I my opinion there should be only custodial sentences for posession of illegal firearm. At least three years for the first offence and double for a subsequent offence.
The country is awash in drug money and such a sentence is really a slap on the wrist as there are enough monetary resources to purchase many more guns.
4,000 for gun charges???. That's why the crime rate so high. You make him pay at least 25,000 for the gun charges.
