This is this heartening to fire people because you don;t like Richard or UWP. These people have the right to be able to work in their country and feed themselves. The same way that Ma Vaughn can come to St Lucia and find employment, those born there have that right too.

I'm not really sure what work has to be done under some of these contracts, but to me it seems like some of these people were being paid a lot of money! I would not have guessed they made so much money, and the place looks a mess! These are hard times though and I hate to see people losing their jobs, but based on the info in this article, it seems like some things needed to be changed.

This is sad and disgusting. A team of moonlighters, hardcore SLP supporters/Councillors who were selected to run the affairs of the city of Castries, are victimizing so many citizens in one go. I doubt they have on iota of idea of how to run a municipality. By the way why was Emma representing us at the Saskachewan meeting on local government and not the mayor or one of the Councillor from the CCC?
There is no doubt that the city and other areas must be kept clean. I think that the situation could have been handled a lot better. There were irregularities yes I agree but it is not the workers who wrote the contracts. Why not redo the contracts and maximize the use of these persons to clean up. There are several community sporting fields in poor condition why not re-assign those persons to take care of these fields. Give the youth somewhere to play and be productive. We too quick to lay blame and make others look bad. Take a step forward and is 2 steps backward.
We don't know for sure if there were any irregularities in the contracts. The councillors said so wothout showing evidence to the effect. I can tell you the likes of John Husbands..... can easily FIND irregularites where there is none. Their sole motive is to starve and disgrave the imagine or perceived political enemy. Never heard, in my entire life, a receptionist or a phone answerer being paid SO MUCH MONEY...I actually have asked others (since I am away), have they ever heard of a reception being paid that kind of $ and the answer is a resounding NO. What qualifies her for that pay?

I'm not sure they mentioned how much the receptionist was making, but one of the contractors was making over $11,000 a fortnight! I'm not sure exactly what his work involved, but that sounds like an exorbitant sum to me. These are just the people we know about in the CCC, imagine the others we know nothing about. No wonder there's no money to do anything worthwhile.

Frederick has no education. He was an ordinary police officer who was very crooked at that time, then he took some courses, and went to study law. That dosen't make him any educated person. He just made a flux.

Provincial matters in Canada is equivalent - to matters on par with the (State) meaning Government of Saint Lucia for your information.
Provincial matters handle billions of dollars, large cities like Toronto and millions of people - many times over the entire Caribbean.
This is not a quasi gather of local government or Councillors - meeting or conferencing on non issues.
I'am pretty sure she represented St.Lucia well. I await the report in the interest of accountability and transparency.
