If this sale is true,
I think it spells utter desperation. For one, something like this should be within the public domain, properly explained and discussed. While it is justifiable that the whole area of the central business district of Castries needs to be regenerated and most particularly the area of the CDC, this has to be integrated with sensible housing options for the persons displaced. This has to be done first BEFORE one can think of selling off the lands for commercial development. Further, the sale of the City Hall is terribly regressive as government should maintain some lands for institutional use. But then again, everything is for sale in Saint Lucia, including the Pitons.
