mr.Cazaubon a well written article however you seem to portraying Port-au-Prince as the whole of Haiti similar like if you charcterise Rodney Bay as the whole of St.Lucia. What about the other 5 millon, how they do fend for themselves. This country have been abused,used and divided by foreigne powers for a long time.In order to help Haiti with must ensure that we are guided by the words of our Nobel Laurete Sir Arthur Lewis "The fundamental cure for poverty is not money but knowledge" Any meaningful Change in the plight of haiti's condition has to begin with a serious education program similar to what Castro di with his people. This where the international community must pour their efforts and not handouts which continue to allow the rich to exploit that country and it's people. Why not help Haiti in building schools and provide them with teachers? The islands greatest resource is it's people and the sure and only way to get them out of poverty is developing their people.
