The persons i call party hacks are those blind party loyalist. Those who support the party blindly to the detriment of the good of the country and perhaps even the party they claim to be loyal to.Those who see no evil speak no evil and hear no evil within their organisaion and a bent on the victory which you talk about at all cost regardless of the consequence to the nation.Those within the party who try to justify their wrongs by pointing to the wrongs of the opposing parties.To me any political operative who puts his or her party interest above that of his country's good and that of society is a hack. Party hacks lack national pride and are a selfish bunch of greedy political operatives.Blindly supporting and defending a wrong, unethical or corrupt activities or behavior within your party is being a hack. Hacks can be easily be indentiied by what they say and do for the party which usually defies common sense and basic logic. Party hacks are a threat to national development and society. There is a diffrence between a party loyalist and party hack. Having said all that i beleive the Hacks have a right to express themselves freely and are not always wrong in their pronouncements. What we must be careful about is their motives. People must learn to differentiate between the facts and issues and th motive of the hack. Even more dangerous than the hacks are the ones who claim to be nuetral or non political. I can understand if you are not partisan,but non political is being a hypocrite. To me all Talk show hosts are political,but all may not be partisan. In ending i would say that St.Lucia seems to be in chaos because we have allowed the hacks to dominate

There is no such thing as a party hack, stop using Rick Wayne stupid word. He is the biggest party hack in St Lucia, from the time kenny fired him, he began calling the SLP supporters party hack. He was the biggest SLP hack, he use to be on platform and all.
In the U.S. on C-SPAN TV there would be a number for each of the party supporters to call on, the people would call to support their parties, nobody would call them party hacks. We in St Lucia are so bright, have to call each other names, bacause that mr know it all Rick Wayne started it.
A hack is one who promotes his/her party without supplying underlying facts and rationale for their support. Talk show hosts probably refer to some callers as hacks in an attempt to discourage their calls, thereby opening up opportunity for more intelligent discussion.
Of course there are Hacks!
I am in total agreement. Why would I want to spend 1 hr listerning to an irrational partisanstell me of how good his or her party is and how bad the other party is.
I want to her intelligent talk that is fair and balance. I don't want to waste my time listerning to people with blind loyalties and a foolish political way of reasoning.

We all have been hacks at some point or the other. What matters most is whether we are able to grow out of it.
Objectivity is what we are lacking the most in sweet St Lucia.

Once a man or woman can stop talking to another man or woman becuase of politics. He or she is a Hack.
A Hack by any other name is still A HACK! And politics is nothing more than a battle between hacks who consistenly put party before country. That is why we cannot have rational debate on anything in Saint Lucia; that is why we canot have a truly national policy on crime, or healthcare; or on foreign relations. That is why we will always be living on shit street.
I remember when I was young our next door neighbour stopped talking to us because they found out that my parents supported a different party, even their kids weren't allowed to play with us which sucked big time.
What is more sad is that you have hacks who claim they set up to school to educated themselves, you look at them after their tour of "education" is over, and they are still a hack. LOL
They learnt nothing about how to cure that malady called hackism. They are more vicious than before.

Wrong! Rick is an advocate for the country. There is a big difference to those who support for supporting sake and those who holds an independent thought. That is Rick whether you like him or not.
What has Rick advocated to St Lucia? If you check his paper he only spread propaganda instead of reporting the new. When the SLP was in office, there was a budget being presented in parliament, there was nothing about the budget in his paper. You know what was lighted "ROCHAMEL" and that was repeated weeks and years after years.
Is that advocating? He is only interested in selling his paper to make money.
To say that Kenny mismanged the coutnry, which he did, is propoganda?
The last time I looked up the meaning, propoganda meant untruths. Show me where Rick has said untruths about Kenny Anthony.
They probably would never had an inquiry into Roachmel if it wasn't for Rick Wayne. I say good job and a warning to all crooked politicians....Rick will find you even when you crawl under your safe rock.
What did we ST Lucians benefit from the inquire? What did the inquire say that we did not know already? Did that make any sense to investigate for money lost, lost three million more, to tell us what we know already. This none performing government is only playing politics, they feel is they continue to highlight kenny mistakes, that will keep then in office. St Lucians are not stupid to fall for that. Kenny did not mismanaged the country, he made mistake as all governments does. There was always a positive G.D.P. under Kenny rule. This government is mismanaging the country because there is nothing happening.
It's all about the message, the humiliation that if you screw the taxpayer, you name will be dragged and spanked in the streets of Castries and even accross the seas. Power to the people.
In the end it's doesn't matter which party is in power, just don't screw the people. We the people.
I agree with you 100% but how long will this government concentrate on kenny, who was voted out because of these same mistakes, instead of running the country, which we are paying them to do. None performance is also screwing up the tax payer. Time is being wasted and is running out, that will cause the same kenny to be re elected because with all his mistakes, he WORKED. which is completly opposite to this government, it is all mistakes and NO WORK.
We gave them a contract for 5 years, we will decide if we should renew it in 2 years time. We will review their work and decide then.
A lot of us did not know about the secret Frenwell agreement until the commission of inquiry. That commission was well worth the money because now we know that not only did Kenny make a deal that would allow the Rochamel people to walk away with our money, he went further and made another secret deal that was a guarantee...... a guarantee that the Rochamel people would get our money.
Don't insult our intelligence by saying that Kenny made a mistake.
And don't insult our intelligence by saying that there was always a positive GDP under Kenny. Kenny borrowed so much money and spent it so foolishly, everything went up in price. GDP tells us the price of goods produced, but doesn't subtract the money borrowed to produce them. GDP is NOT a good indicator of economic management.
It's only stupid people that vote SLP, or only people who are getting easy money from the government. We can't afford it anymore. Worse times are coming. We have not yet experienced the full disaster of Kenny's rule.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ordered his military on Sunday to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Colombia while accusing the United States of trying to provoke a war between the South American neighbours.
"The best way to avoid war is preparing for it," Chavez told military officers during his weekly television and radio program.
"The empire is more threatening than ever," he said, referring to the U.S. "Don't make a mistake, Mr. Obama, by ordering an attack against Venezuela by way of Colombia."
Chavez has criticized a recent agreement between the U.S. and Colombia that would give U.S. troops greater access to Colombian military bases, calling it a threat to regional stability.
The two pact-signing countries say the deal is necessary to fight the war on drugs and a decades-old insurgency in Colombia. Militants often use Venezuela's border region as a haven to resupply and treat their wounded.
There was no immediate reaction from either the Colombian or U.S. government to Chavez's latest remarks.
Tensions along the Venezuela-Colombia border have been exacerbated in recent weeks by a series of shootings and slayings.
Four men on motorcycles shot and killed two Venezuelan National Guard troops at a checkpoint near the border, prompting Venezuela to temporarily close some border crossings.
Venezuela also sent 15,000 soldiers to the border on Thursday, saying it was necessary to increase security.

Mistake is when you do things that were not intended. Deceit is when you do things that you know are wrong and attempt to hide it.
In my opinion its time to stop making that lame excuse for Kenny. He clearly new what he was doing and tried to hide it.

Hacks looking ofr excuses for their party and leaders and other hacks clling people who support a particular party stupid. what a way to go with those blind hacks. both parties have failed and they continue to fail because those hacks on this blog won't call a spade a spade.
It is very true both parties failed St Lucia, because there is NO perfect party anywhere in the world. and we must come into gripes with that. In St Lucia we have two parties, one which rule for 30 years and left the country in a mess,eg. hospitals, schools gov. offices, sports grounds, roads, cleanliness of the country, prison, police stations, fire stations health centers, boys training center etc, etc, all these institutions were in a mess. The other party came in for 9 years and did their best to clean up the mess, immediately putting St lucia on the map and they had more in their plans to do , to further develope the country. They were voted out and the the party who ruled for 30 years was re elected, promising the world to us, after three years the country is at a standstill, nothing happening apart blaming the last government, scandals after scandals and promises. Anytime people speak against the government their so called supporters would call them HACKS, STUPID, or even ILLITERATE, but they fail to realise all these words could be uses to describe the leadership of their party, if they look a little closer they will see.
Now this is what I call a H A C K !
