So who must be blamed for all these ghettoes to be allowed to spring up around the city? imagine the government took the people out of conway to Ciceron. Some of the young guys still came back to Conway to build shacks, live there and continue to carry out their affairs as usual, so who is to be blamed for allowing that?

I say bring in marshall law, raid those mofo at any time, any where and don't give in until the streets are clean. You cannot allow this sweet country to be Jamaicanized. No

As I advised weeks ago......HANG EM ALL.

Hanging will only bring bad KARMA to St.Lucia.

Yeah, the government give them money for peace and love, the bulk of which has gone to purchase guns. Look at who has the contracts to build the badly constructed sidewalks and courts, and tell me if most of the money paid for this shoddy work is not being stashed for them to buy the guns they will need to declare war on the police. It just start.
What they say, "Who Jah bless no man curse." God has a sense of humour. It is sad because all of us will have to pay for this. Arming ganstas under the guise of intervention in the ghetto.
What a bunch of crock. I feel for the police. St. Lucia will need more than Marshal Law when the King Pin Castries assumes his rightful place at the head of the armies he has created in the ghettos of Castries. Our own Alcapone. Don't blame me

One down...nineteen to go. I guess the Minister of National Security The Right Honorable Guy Mayers (square-peg-in-round-hole) has started chalking up the homicides. He called for a 50% reduction in crime, instead of a zero tolerance. It's January 12 and a repeat of last year seems inevitable. I guess when it get to his quota of 20 murders, he will stop his overseas travelling and attend to the problem at hand. Good luck "Square-Peg"...you have been chosen as the fall guy!

What serious policy has this government implemented in three years to seriously tackle crime in St Lucia? If this government cannot come up with any policies. Why are they doing in office.

I meant what are they doing in office.

It should be a crime for you to constantly chose stupidity over rationale.

When you point one finger out guess how many more are pointing right back at you

50% reduction in crime huh? We all knew that was a bag of cobblers. Mr Mayers why have you set yourself up to fail. Like someone said, your policy should have been zero tolerance, not just pointless talk at the spur of the moment..I hate to say this, but the chickens coming home to roost..I spend quite a bit of my time off island, however, I know whos got the guns...How come the Police don't?...Why aren't their homes being raided constantly? Just because a minister will say to leave his constituency alone, so that his votes can be secured for the next election? I can sort the crime situation myself..with the help of a few friends...very well trained friends...the trouble is many people will not like it..So what's next? Another killing? Another murdered cop? Virgin Holidays pulling out of St Lucia? The Helen of the West turning into the real Wild Wild West? Come on Mr Mayers...rise to the occasion, step up to the plate...We all know who the criminals are..They want to be known so thats the easy bit. They aren't as clever or as sophisticated as we may want to believe. Maybe their weapons are. Come on Mr Mayers...'the big shakedown' is long overdue..Rock their boats, because enough is enough and it only seems to be getting worse. A couple of publications ago, I asked for suggetions to present to Mr Mayers and Crew...I only got 3...Lets play our parts too..Lets picket their offices and the House Of Parliament...We need to show our disapproval...When will it end? When we decide to set up vigilante death squads and sort it ourselves?

CAPS & FAITH will always have limited impact not only due to their lack of resources but because they only target potential criminals and not the seasoned ones. The Police Force and the citizenry HAVE to step up to the plate in order for there to be any significant positive impact on crime. Our leaders must also be better role models.
