Why did you have to bring up the party political side of this? Jackson have been singing calypso for 40 years. UWP were in power for 30 years, SLP for 10 years. Do some math here.

Congratulations to Lord jackson ... Isn't Lord jackson the cab driver who sang the popular calypso "Guy Love Dance?"

St. Lucia must do a better job and not procrastinate when it comes to the honouring and memorializing ordinary folks that make outstanding contributions in our society in the areas of Arts, Culture, Community Activism, Sports and the like.

I think although Errol 'Trottet' Edmunds have passed (Deceased) he should be considered for an honour for his contribution as an oustanding sportsman who represented his country as a goalkeeper for many years. Also Tony Martino a Community Activist who mobilized the youth of his day and founded the Leslie Land Soccer Club, he was also a refree and was an MC and organizer during the St Lucia Talent On Parade era.

All that said the spotlight is right now on Lord Jackson for he deserves the light to shine on him and take his place in St Lucia's History as an innovator and trailblazer in the Calypso Movement, which is an outstanding contributtion to Music Arts & Culture.

The Government, although late in honouring Lord Jackson have done their part. Now it is the Calypso Association's turn to honour the man who started the first Calypso Tent in St Lucia and won the Monachy and Road March Titles. He may not be the most popular yet his accomplishments have surpassed that of any other Calypsonian and not put him alongside the best but with this honour has him ahead of them all including Papa Vader and Pele. like Ras Creation said, "he is an innovator and trailblazer in the Movement."
Will we see something like the Lord Jackson Trophy or naming the finals after him?
