I agree 100%

The writer must have been living under a rock for the past five years, if he consider the chairman un-baias. Sure the Agenda should be revived but certainly under new chairmanship

Why fix it, when its not broken?
The Agenda is the "classiest" talk show on the airwaves..........lets not start the politicking and the victimization, please!!!!!

What's on the agenda? I'll tell you. You see our voters were too partisan. We never saw it coming so soon after general election.

More dumping of civil servants is coming. Experience the unfolding show at Education where efforts are now on stream to replace the Permanent Secretary.

Monrose is the designated talker, bluffer and bulldozer. The Minister will continue to remain silent. But the two deputies from the same community as the PS are the ones igniting the fire. Personal vendetta!

For Christs' sake that new RSL board met a week ago............so what's up????

I didn't hear SLP's complain when the chairman had Louis George on "lambasting King and Flambeau" Jeannine and Robert were regular guests and so was Dalson, but The Agenda was not about politics and it is sad that "The Hacks" only see what they want to. Dave is a class act and I've already heard that he is getting offers to go elsewhere.

There isn't anyone else like a David Samuels on radio; Radio St. Lucia will be all the poorer if he leaves............

Why are we interferring with a programme that thousands have come to look forward to on weekdays. I thought we were promised a different tone? This is 2012 Gosh!!

The Chairman a Hack? come on! I heard Lady Compton and Jeannine putting endless blows on UWP on The Agenda, if DS was " A Hack " in the true sense of the word, there is no way he would have allowed it, but he did and all the shortsighted labors should at least thank him for such amazing transparency..

It saddens me about some of the insenstive things being said about "The Chairman". Saint Lucians are really being true to themselves of not knowing what they have until it's taken away.

We never miss the water(The Chairman) until the well(The Agenda)runs dry. Messieur! forget about the politics and let the man do what none of us can do as well as he does...........

Yes the chairman had some very interesting guests on his show and the veteran journalist that he is he asked some very good questions......he has been around long enough to be a household name and to know personally some of St Lucia's big wigs ... who will never say no to being a guest on his show....
We all have our political affiliations and as humans sometimes we try to be neutral but sometimes during an emotional moment it shows... Dave, when on the air kept his feelings to himself for the most part ....but we must admit that he had an interesting show......

The Agenda could never be the same without Dave, it was uniquely presented, and what a voice, diction and command and use of English. RSL will lose a lot of it's listeners if DS doesn't come back on. It was interesting to read how dismissive Jerry was of the whole matter, instead of taking a stand on behalf of his collegue? Yes Jerry! find someone to replace him indeed! I THINK NOT!!!!

I had stopped listening to RSL for years until Dave came on and brought some class and professionlism to broadcasting, if he goes, a lot of listeners will go with him or follow him on another radio station perhaps?

RSL Board; I want The Chairman Back!!!!!!!

I am just flabbergasted! I am sick and tired of politics and we had an On Air programme which gave us variety instead of a lot of the crap that passes for discourse on radio these days. This matter has Kenny's dna written all over it, but maybe I'm wrong so let's wait and see...

He is probably still on the campaign trail with Allan.

Check Soufriere, he may be somewhere down there.

LOL

Campaigning? Don't you realise that if you are hired to produce a video that you have to sometimes follow the candidate around?. Video production is a craft and several people were doing it for various candidates during the elections. Some of you people just love to gossip and label people because you don't possess the requisite skills.

Some of the best political radio interviews in St. Lucia were done by The Chairman and they were all very insightful. The ones with Philip Pierre, Robert Lewis, Ubaldus Raymond and the one with the Laborie MP during this time last year really stand out. Also enjoyed when Allen was on who has a habit of not answering questions, and you could sometimes hear the frustration in Dave's voice, but the real classics were when Robert and Jeanine were on together as well as a couple with Mrs Compton and oh yes! The bomb was former MP for Micoud N Mr. George.

I love listening to The Chairman sparring with Tom Walcott. Great radio! I remember how peeved he was when Tom accused him of setting up a call from Richard, which turned out not to be true...

Interestingly I don't ever recall hearing Richard Frederick on the programme. Umph....I wonder why?

Some callers can really try to rattle some of these Talk Show Hosts and I give Dave a 9 out of 10 for the amazing and remarkable manner he handles all his guests regardless of their station in life.

We all have our biases I guess, but as a former radio personality who worked on a privately owned radio station, it cannot be easy, if not nearly impossible to take calls critical of the government that controls RSL...So cut de guy some slack...

Excuse me but we keep forgetting the vast range of topics featured, it seemed to be more about US as a nation and a people????

Anonymous said...

Stop da BS, Stop da victimisation! we had too much of it in 97! Kenny should begin to reflect what da INDEPENDENCE THEME says; "We are One Nation, One People! Maybe Emma and Alvina can try a little persuasion? We hired u guys to FIX da country NOT to Break it!

Anonymous said...

Way Maysier! da country hav so much problems but we going after da most positive person on radio? God is watching!

The Chairman is one of the few in the media who has given the calypsonian a voice, by not only playing a lot of local calypso, but by speaking to them Live........

Revealing if not hypocritical to listen to Senator Jim Fletcher speak to "RSL being a repository of the audio history of the country" when the person most responsible for Informing, Educating and Entertaining us about that history is the host of The Agenda. How ironic! I think that the ministry and the RSL Board have really opened up A Hornet's nest and they must move swiftly to defuse this matter.

If i was Dave i would tell Jimmy and his bunch to F-Off and move on to another station where de partee cay control what you say...

MR. Chairman; we miss your Golden Voice and your wonderful intellect. We tune in only to tune out! Mornings are just not the same on Radio these days. Please hurry back!

Guys Please don"t throw stanes when ypou live in glass houses. I have an admiration for Daves ability and personally dont subscribe to victimization. Is it victimization taking place right now? Can we honsetly state such. I myself have a real life story or two about Dave and his "percieved impartial" media character which if I reveal will give some of you a different opinion about him. The issue should not be about Dave however, but if you guys are holding him upon a pedestal then think again. I will condemn any acts of victimization levelled at him and I will also call for him and the agenda to be returned but Dave too must do some penance.

Enough Already.............Let's get on with the d..mn show!!!!!!

We want to hear Chairman Dave!!!!!

I find the "Bored" &/or Gov't very disrespectful to RSL listeners. All of a sudden the PR has gone bad!!!!
No apologies,explanations, NADA!!!!!
