Well said Stan. I do not always agree with your comments, but in this case I am in total agreement with you. It really seem like all the young boys dying from violence were "good boys" and were never involved in anti-social behaviour. One can certainly understand why a parent, family members, love ones, and friends would be upset and heartbroken when thier flesh and blood or friend dies regardless of the circumstances. However, the usual "he was a good boy", "he had no problems with anybody", etc must stop.
If the parents of these "Good Boys" want them to live to an age where they may gain help & support from them then they should address the problem now, not leave it until it is too late. Any parent knows if their "Good Boy" is really a "Bad Boy". The signs are there from an early age when the little blighter is young enough to deal with.
I beg the parents of the 8 - 15 year old boys in our society to maintain their family values, education, religion and family related social activity to prevent yet another generation of "Bad Boys". Parents (often parent I know) it is entirely in your hands, get help from your family and friends if you need help but NEVER give up.
Nicely put. I'm always stunned when I hear parents on t.v saying how good their children are, when everyone in the community knows the child was a terror. Maybe a mother's love is unconditional and it's difficult to see things clearly when it's your baby. I don't know, it just sounds ridiculous when they say how good these kids were, when they clearly weren't.
The problem is not that the mother's love is unconditional, love is not blind! The problem is the need to admit that you are failing as a parent and need help. It seems better to bury your head in the sand in the hope that said sand will turn into rose-tinted glasses.
NEVER give up on your children, even the 16 year old "Bad Boys" are really insecure lost kids whose only role model is the local "gangsta" because everyone else has failed them.
remember in 2011 elections when lorenzo doddy francis said good boys don't be long in politics was true or we should start sending the good boys in jail and leave the bad boys out
What troubles me is why the media reporters really like to show so much of this "my boy was...."every time a youth got shot. Reporters, please stick to the facts and stop advertising crime with your news coverage.

Those good old boys live by the GANG and they die by the GANG.
