don't think that your attempt at criticing journalists exempts you from that classification. Journalism in St. Lucia is a shame. Sometimes I think its better to allow my neighbour's daughter's best-friend's cousin, who works in construction report the news!! for real!!

@ above blogger: The writer did not exempt himself from the classification. He was just being honest about the field in which he plays a part.

Like all areas in St. Lucia affected by the freeness attitude to life our journalists also feel they can do what they want, that there are no standards and they can say what they want without reporting the news.

This way of life is slowly coming to its end point.
We cannot keep operating without standards and doing the things that our destroying our country.

Journalism is just one more place where mediocrity reigns..

The Prime Minister of the Cayman Islands was arrested this morning the twelth of December 2012, for corruption. This was mentioned to exemplify the manner business is carried out in other places. In ST Lucia any and everything goes. Some even encourage foreigners to create havoc in their own country. Journalist, politicians and others say and do what they want without question. It's just a big old rat race out there. No one sets an example.

I hope that Mr.Ellis publishes a book on the craft, soon! Too many of those guys (no pun intended) go to their graves with the knowledge accumulated over the years. So pass it on to the next generation:fundamentals, anecdotes and all!

The other day a woman from one radio station saw this name "Guesneau" (a community in Castries). It is pronounced "genno" but she pronounced it as "gesno".

Don't they read those things before the read them on air. I GESNO!! HAHAHAHA
