this is an important article .. i hope ppl put all the political mepepwee and blog on this..its a great idea to refurbish/rebuild a national museum at vigie at this old barracks..there is a great view of the harbour, good location, perhaps ample parking as well..its been a long while since i have been up that side at vigie..with that in mind ..this museum should show case our indigenious history & progress to independence..BUT, i do believe Castries or soufriere should have another Museum depicting..modern arts & technology..that said WHAT SAY YOU..bloggers ?

That is a fantastic idea. We need a place where persons can see our history. Viewing pictures, models of old homes etc could get St.Lucians more interested in their past.

Quite a few locations were earmarked by the UWP for historical / artistic endeavours ... but in 2007, they went untouched, and when UWP came back in, they were not even acknowledged.

It is up to US the people to at least BEGIN agitating for these earmarked sites to be implemented into what they were chosen for.

St Lucia does not only need museums and theatres, but also creative institutions to admit students in the arts ... all we have is the St Lucia School of Music and the School of Art and Design (a small school) ... what St Lucia NEEDS, and should have is a school or academy to encompass teaching of ALL the arts!!
