A very good article Anthony. I sincerely hope that your argument is well taken and rationalised. The alcoholic sponsors should be ashamed of themselves, when better can, and should be, done.
Not because a distillery/brewery is a sponsor that the prize should be their product - but I am in total agreement that their sponsorship could be monetary, a trophy, or even coupons &/or tickets to various activities.
Also I think sports events producers should really do a 360 degree turn on accepting alcoholic prizes for their events - and THINK!
