New Year, New Politics

Saint Lucians after several decades have not taken the time to observe some very salient issues regarding the politics in this country.

1. Notice regardless of what the populace thinks; politicians become best friends under certain conditions. One very important one; is whenever they need to cover-up each others corruption and crookedness in Office.

2. We would notice that notwithstanding which political party conducts a "Commission of Inquiry"; absolutely no one ever goes to jail for stealing the Treasury funds"; in much the same way; a young unemployed man is kicked into jail to languish on remand for one spliff of marijuana found on him; or for stealing a pack of frozen chicken at JQ's Supermarket.

3. These Commissions of Inquiry are mere tools used by the politicians to keep a lid and shut the mouths of those politicians in opposition. This is all this is meant to be.

4. Have we not observed that the same set of people in the Public Service flourish regardless of whether Labour or UWP is in Office. Why?

Because the politicians from both the labour and UWP share with each other who the crooks and corrupt public servants are and those that can be used to process what the politicians need to be done; at any cost.

So; what we get at the end of the day; those who profit are the friends of the politicians; their families, the politicians themselves and those in the public service who carry out the corrupt acts for the politicians,

Absolutely nothing is ever done for the people of the country. And this in effect is the root cause of the state of this country to date.

Standing up for the country first; by all St. Lucians; is the only way; this country will turn around.

I fully agree with the blogger.

Everyone speaks about this; they know it; but for whatever reason; they try to pretend that this does not exist.

The UWP and Labour politicians are all best friends. Behind close doors and ----on the telephones. Compton and Kenny; Kenny and etc etc etc.
