Waste Not, Want Not

Scientific est. imate of the Earth's FRESH water from ALL sources including glaciers, wells, rivers lakes etc. = 2.5%

and salt water almost 98%

Translation: We look and marvel at the swirling blue ball laced in white clouds aits life giving 3rd place position amidst the Solar System.

We are content and go about trashing ALL water resources with IMPUNITY :(

It has been said that the Final wars of the Bone dry Middle East shall not be fought over religion nor oil-BUT WATER sources.

Back to IMPUNITY:
when the ozone hole was first reported to the general public, the sensation lasted several years as each brought a widening picture - Then just as suddenly NO more sharing on this threat

Next was ACID Rain and after fewer years of widespread coverage - little is heard of this threat.

In came Mercury contamination of waterways and we are cautioned to restrict our eating of certain fish species to no more than 2x weekly.

WASTEWATER treatment and disposal has been with us throughout but now it is a most insidious threat.

How quickly we forget our watery womb and umbilical cord.

This concept is analogous to our life long existence on Mother Earth.her womb

For too long we have "pissed" into our life waters and deceptively called it Cognac.

We can bet our Sweet Jesus, that the disrespect inherent in IMPUNITY is gonna gag us with a mouthful of SALT.

Perhaps, like the sea Iquanas of Galapagos we've already adapted to a high level of sodium tolerance.

But water resources are about food and the vast oceans are getting sick:

the bleaching and decay of coral reefs-essential spawing grounds and nursery for seafood

large cycles of red algae blooms around continental shelves are real symptoms not hiccups.

Live and let die does not play in this doom & gloom scenario. We are all in it together- by thirst!

Water is our most ancient connector , food source and cradle
we must fight to keep it clean or else we all perish -agonizing over a preventable calamity.

@7.15 - very good points.

there's an article I read the other day about the dam that serves California is almost dry. Humans are wasteful and short term in outlook. Things only want to get fixed when it becomes an immediate problem, but by then it's too late.

Lucians too quick to throw their rubbish in the backyard and not think about how to get rid of it properly and safely.

Plastics everywhere.

Plastics are the tip of the proverbial iceberg, mon ami.

Because of my respect for a St Lucia that was once 99.9 % God fearing, I shall borrow some Bible quotes to testify for-why we need to assume our ordained STEWARDSHIP of all of GOD"S handiworks
(including outer space.

"Woe to those who join house to house, who add field to field,
until there is no more room... The LORD of hosts has sworn in my hearing: 'Surely many houses shall be desolate, large and beautiful houses, without inhabitants'"
(Isa. 5:8-9).

In chapter 5 of the Book of Isaiah a fitting mural of decadent St. Lucia is amply illustrated showing our destruction of "Simply Beautiful" via excess materialism (v.8), (processed-imported) food (v.12), drugs (v.11), parties energized by hedonistic music (v. 12) and arrogance towards God's creation (v. 12):

Arrogance toward'd God's creation is asserted thus : ..."Nor do they consider the work of His hands" (Isa. 5:12b).

Psalm 8:3-9 elaborates on "work of His hands" cited in the aforementioned Isaiah 5:12:

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, what is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?...You make him to rule over the works of Your hands. You have put all things under his feet...All sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea..."

Therefore, Adam was the first conservationist given authority and responsibility to rule and care over the animals which meant that he would rule over and care for them. We inherited that responsibility from Adam, oui?

"God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth" (Genesis 1:26, ESV).

So what are the consequences for Over-consumption, gluttony and covetousness?

"to destroy those who destroy the earth" (Revelation 11:18).

"The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left" (Isaiah, 24:5-6, NASB).
,
The hyenas who belong to Satan treat the earth with impunity and neglect, rape the land for money, and view humans as nothing but "useless eaters," similar to Hitler's treatment of the Jews during the holocaust.
