Disturbing Decibels

Mr Theobalds, I agree wholeheartedly. But what disturbs me more is the conditions of the libraries on the island. As a writer, I visited the "library" in Vieux Fort to try to obtain some background history of St Lucia for an article I was writing. The lone worker inside explained that the library was in such a poor state of disrepair that no one was allowed upstairs in the main section. Only a very tiny lower level room is open to children and even that didn't appear to be too safe.
When I went to the Central Library in Castries on the same historical search, I was given only three books that contained information about the history of the island. How pitiful is that? If the Ministry of Education could just improve on the conditions of the island's libraries, perhaps the students of the island could improve their education and learn.
