I strongly disagree with Josie, when he said about sprucing up Dr Anthony and re-imposing him on the island. What do he mean by re-imposing,we Lucians including Josie should have more respect for Dr Anthony.Josie had his chance and he blew it with Odlum. What did he achieved for the country? He should be ashamed to be talking today. In 9 yrs Dr Anthony developed St Lucia as we have never seen before. We achieved universial secondary school education, and was about to do it in health care also, with a new general and a new mental hospital. We got a new prison,a new cricket and a new sports stadium, we got many new police and fire stations. We got most roads and highways upgraded and fixed both in the north and south of the island. We got gabage to be collected all over the island. The country was kept clean by the STEP pragrame.S.L.B.G.A was cleared of 45 million dollars debt, left by the UWP etc,etc.etc. If all these things are imposing, then we want him to be imposed upon us.I know the question would be, So why did they lost the election? The answer is, we Lucoans are now sorry about the mistake we made. The media was bombading the SLP thinking that they would get something better. Peolpe like Josie forgot the way Compton and the UWP use to manage St Lucia,he forgot his days on the market steps, when he use to bombade Compton and and the UWP.

Already you are wrong about talking about this talk about people blowing their chances. If are going to take that approach then it can said that Kenny blew his.

Josie has the right to express his opinion. As a matter of fact they all have blown their chances-Josie, Odlum, King, Kenny, and all the rest.

Time to think way pass the past if we are in search for real leadership. Let us stop the recycle on both sides.

When I said Josie blew his chance,i meant he blew his chance to DEVELOPE the country,i didnot mean his chance to be in power. In what way kenny blew his chances? are you not satified with to amount of work kenny did for 9 yrs? I am satisfied,we lucian are to ungrateful, look what we ended with as our government.Kenny made mistakes as all government does, all around the world, but his work over shadowed the mistakes.I am a lucian and i could recall many mistakes Compton did in his times.Talking about re-cycling,PLEASE tell me,or show me the perfect men you will not re-cycle.NO government is EVER PERFECT,put in some new men, first they will have to settle down, then they will have to LEARN the system and all that will take time before they begin to work.A good eg. is our presnt government.I will trust Kenny any day to continue developing the country where he left off.

I certainly agree that both leaderships of the parties have not been successful in bringing the country to where it should be and most importantly, its people.

Yes Kenny was very interested in physical infrastructure and putting a new face on things but sometimes times does not always do the trick. One of the things Kenny did for example is take away the transport costs paid for students by government at the beginning of the term. You cannot build schools and yet price the students out of it. You are defeating the purpose.

There will never be no perfect government or individual, ofcourse that goes without saying and we will agree or disagree as to who is best or not based on what we look for in our governance. However, i think that neither those that were there or have been there are addressing sufficiently the social needs or the people of this country and as a result the level of poverty in this country has spiralled as well as unemployment.

I don't care what any government does, as long as these basic issues are not resolved and made a priority, you end up focusing on one end and forgetting the other.

Personally, I am not politically motivated but I am not impressed with any of the leaders we've had and I don't quite disagree with the idea of stop recycling and get fresh blood into the government, someone who will bring a new view. Perhaps u could say Kenny was fresh blood but thats up for agrument, as for King well he has been at the top recently but I think probably into politics too long.

Our country does not need politicians but qualified individuals who genuinely care about the average person. And between Kenny and King, Kenny is more educated and perhaps has less to prove but King has more to prove, but is more intact with the little things, which frankly matters more sometimes.

You should be more specific, when you speak about people,i find you to be very vage. How you mean kenny did not develope the people, when he provided education and health care for all of us? We must stop being bias, the dicussion to stop the transportation money was explained to us.Kenny said he will stop the transport cost and use the resourses to build new schools Was that not a good idea?,so that every body will get a school place to develope themselves. So what purpose was he defeating?.At that time there was more work going around in St Lucia. Now the UWP came in power, work has slowed down in the country and they stop the STEP programe which some parent could have used to sent the children to school, saying it is a hand out,so they had no choise but to bring back the transportation, which is NOT a hand out(smile). How can a country develope without proper infrastructure?WE should should be thankful to Kenny for inproving our infrastructure.Have you ever visited the condition under which people have to work and to be served at V.H,GOLDEN HOPE,HM PRISONS,MINDO PHILLIP PARK,THE VARIOUS POLICE AND FIRE STATIONS? If only you are bias, you will believe Kenny was not right in inproving them. You spoke about poverty, you expected Kenny to stop poverty in 9 yrs but on the other hand you criticise the improvements he implemented. Please tell me which caribbean inland which has more resourses than us has eliminated proverty? There is poverty in the great USA. Compton did not do it in 30 yrs, when the country poor farmers use to bring in so much money from bananas to the country and at that time there was the cold war and we use to recieve so much aide. Most schools and other projects built in that era was donated to us,so that was the best time we could have taken advantage of the situation to develope ST Lucia. Please be more specific and tell me which social needs you are talking about everything cannot be adressed at once, and stop using the excuse about you are not being political,i am not ashamed to say that i am political, because i am doing it to the best interest of MY COUNTRY,i love ST Lucia,i do not criticise for criticising sake.Up to now you have not identified the fresh blood that will take St Lucia to the promise land, until you can do that and prove to me they will,i will not agree with you.You said "our country does not need politicians but qualify individuals who care about the average people" Tell me what you meant by that. You make it seem as though Kenny is more educated than King as if King is educated, all King can do is to READ a speech that was writted for him.If king had atlease a BA,BSC or even an Associate degree, them you could have made that statement, but the guy has nothing.Which leader in the world,in this day and age is semi literate.Shame on us in ST lucia,no wander our economy have take many backward steps. What you mean by King has more to prove?Taking care of our country is no joke,we must have capable men to do the job,the whole batch of our government are not capable.Take a good look for you self.PLEASE i am begging you to mention the LITTLE THINGS king is more intact with.PLEASE REPLY.

You are obviously very passionate about this and I appreciate that, so Let us take a step back.

I'll try to make somethings clear to you; there is no question that kenny is more qualified than King, and thats the whole point of saying that King has more to prove, whereas Kenny has already proven alot of who he is. Secondly to judge a man solely on his BA, Bsc, Msc or Phd is absolutely disgusting, whether he is the prime minister or the next man down the street. I think it is small minded thinking that we sometimes get carried away with. We certainly respect qualifications and I know that because I had to work hard for my M. Sc, however, this is only a small part of the equation.

Now let me get back to the main issue by asking u: Why do u think St. Lucians were so disappointed with Kenny's government after all he did, but they went back to Compton who had been there for ages and 'never developed the country or did none as much as Kenny'. I certainly didn't vote cause I am not at home but are the majority of St Lucians just plain DUMB?

Secondly, I certainly don't discredit infrastructure as I think it is relevant and a certain level of infrastructure is necessary for the good of our people and the country's development. I am looking to doing some infrastructure redevelopment in the country myself, so understand that I don't see it as unnecessary. I spoke of priorities, and a balance between infrastructure and meeting other critical needs. Do you think that Kenny kept that balance?

Thirdly let me ask you? Cause I am not aware..To discredit the STEP programme is to be out of touch with people's daily struggle in St Lucia and I certainly don't think is was a waste, cause it was very helpful to the man and woman who struggled to keep the family budget on a weekly basis. But tell me, was it meant to be temporary or Permanent? And how long was temporary. You must be aware that there were secondary school leavers who were involved in the step program cutting grass and cleaning and the whole lot. Now that is all good for a couple of years. Were there programs in place to ensure that these young talented people would not be doing this forever as long as Kenny was in power, and were there programs in place for these people to improve their skills whether it be in further education or skills development? I ask because u certainly seem to know it.

In answering these questions, I would not like u to ask whether King would or is doing a better Job, cause u seem to misinterpret my comments as a supporter of King. I am a supporter of no one, get this straight. But let us judge Kenny as Kenny in answering these questions..

I'll ask one further question? In your eyes did Kenny do anything wrong?
