since the radio station is state owned, then the government or management has a right to ban anything that does not reflect its policies or is very critical of it.

That is a stupid political move, the radio station is state owned but it is being supported by the public tax money. The public has a right to hear the calypsos and make their own judgement, this is what democracy is all about, after all it is carnival. As a matter of fact there is nothing new in the songs, the public is discussing everything in the songs everyday in the talk shows, so what is the point banning the songs. There was so many songs bashing the slp in their rein, they banned no songs. When Bingo sang that song Kenny and Tony, kenny called him to congratulate him. Uwp is only making things worse on themselves, song or no song the public know uwp is not doing a good job. They should concentrate in running the affairs of the state and stop worrying about petty stuff like calypsos.

If a song is libelous or laced with profanity I strongly support the banning of such a song.
If the problem is that the song is too critical of the government or the Prime Minister or any government minister that should never be a reason to ban the song from being played on the PEPOLE OWNED radio station.

This is nothing but censorship and in a country where the freedom of speech is guaranteed under the bill of rights that is unacceptable. The people of St. Lucia should never let that go unchallenged irrespective of political stripe or tee shirt colour.

I hope that the other private owned stations are playing the hell out the song(s).

It is high time that he people of St. Lucia stand together as one people on an issue. This one qualifies for such a treatment.
If we give them an inch they will take a foot. This is nothing but a tyrannical and despotic abuse of power.

Wake up St. Lucians!!!!
