If this is not a sign that things are going well, and that UWP is getting ready to call the next general elections, then what. King announces UWP is going to win, new hospital handed over, nuff flights pouring into the country, small projects left right and center in the country, hey we may as well forget about the last 3 years. LOL

AC, we all are in St Lucia SLP, UWP, suffering together. How will this award help the people? When SLP was in power St Lucia got many awards including best place in the caribbean to do business, best wedding destination etc, etc. So what?

As a St Lucian /Canadian Liberal and a St Lucian SLP believer, I congratulate Mr. Chastanet for all of his achievements and more. Chastanet's accomplishments, honesty, transparency, dedication and accountability make him an anachronism within the UWP.

It's unfortunate that Kenny Anthony does not have him on his team for the next election regardless of position. Always remember that Chastanet wants the job to make a difference, he doesn’t need the job.

On the other hand, I have noticed something quite incredible in a metamorphosis stage regarding Stephenson King on a few decisions he has addressed so far. I have been quite impressed and pleased at some of the issues he has addressed and resolved.

I do not know Mr. King very well and I wasn’t expecting that kind of vision and a constructive and effective defiance as the apparent weak Prime Minister many St Lucians assumed he is.

This scenario is not unlike the Conservative Stephen Harper as Prime Minister of Canada and how surprised and amazed I have become regarding the job he is doing even though I am still a Liberal and an SLP.

St Lucians should congratulate and support those who accomplish great things regardless of their political views. Give credit where credit is due and stop the bias attitude and think of “Mother Helen”

Dantes, I live in Canada too and PM Harper is doing good because he has a minority government and the other parties are actually pulling the strings because they always threaten to bring down his government.

On another note, I have always said that Senator Chastanet will one day be PM if he wants to because he puts the Country first.
He is cut from a different cloth and I wish him all the best and may God bless and keep him.

Congartulations Son of the Soil, we have faith in you.

Good news.

Chastanet will will never be PM of St Lucia because his party will lost the election in the next two years, and by the way he do non even have a district to run for election.

Well done! Mr. Minister of Tourism! You have made your country proud.

Well what makes you a personality in the Caribbean? I rather not say but when we're all honest about it being tall, white and powerful works. Saw Mr. Chastanet on the front cover of Maco People, but then again that magazine pretty much features persons of a certain class and look. This is not to say that I think Mr. Chastanet has done a fairly good job so far. I congratulate him but with a pinch of salt knowing that class and colour still matter in the Caribbean. If you doubt me look all over the Caribbean and you'll see what I speak of. Oh well, I've been told we have no racism in the Caribbean. Even bringing this up means that you're racist.

Its great that Mr. Chastanet has raised his personal profile after hosting two regional tourism conferences at a cost of over $10 million. Congratulations to him. I sincerely hope that the country also benefits likewise by becoming the Caribbean Destination of the Year.

to "Anonymous" concerning being tall, white and powerful ... good grief man, your insecurity slip is showing - and showing PINK!!

It would do you good to face the reality, and not the "bring down" of the people who are trying to put their country on the map of good works.

Mr Chastanet has done our little island proud - BASK IN IT!! Because of your myopic views, and small back - YOU - are one of the people who will stay behind, and moan and bicker with excuses.

Come to think of it - please remain in your bicker bile, your pink slip and myopic views. You belong there.

I see people talking about good works, but nobody have mentioned the good works. Can somebody or some people mention some of Chastanet good works? I know Jet Blue came to St Lucia but what else? I am not saying he do not deserve his award, but i want to know, how have he improved the lives of us.

The award is "CARIBBEAN TRAVEL PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR" If i could understand or read properly, this award is not for any work done, because we all are confused knowing that most of the task taken up by mr Chastanet have failed. I was discussing that with a learned St Lucian, he told me, the award is given to him based on the amount of traveling he is doing. The minister is mostly traveling out of the country.

You right AC, go Chassy, go, travel chassy, travel. Just be at your best personality when you travel and we will be happy in St Lucia. That is all we need.

I know one of these minister had to be recognised for traveling, sooner than later, because that is all they do.

Tucker would have never gotten that award because he misbehaved at the airport. We cannot expect any better from an ex con.
