I applaud the efforts of the Fireman in the quest for justice. Equally, I believe there should be a thorough investigation into the complaint of the civilian staff member.
It appears to me that what has happened, is the symtom of a bigger problem.

The Fireman did not take the appropriate step in reporting the matter. The Commissioner of Police cannot discipline the officer on his own. The matter should have been reported to the Police Complaints Commission who would then investigate and submit its findings to the Police Complaints Commission.

Anonymous #1 is so right on this matter. As someone who had a previous matter with a Police officer I know this is the right procedure to use, if you need justice.
