Since this government came into office everything in St Lucia is in limbo, not only carnival. That is what we St Lucians wanted.

i have a proposal for government, private/public sectors and all key pardners in carnival. there is land in choc opposite seaman's park that is empty, im not sure what develeopment plans there is for that site last i heard slp was building a stadium there but im saying why not construct a national purpose center right there in that spot for carnival an other national events. like independance etc.carnival will now have a permanant spot with stage an seating for an audience, calypso finals everything can go there its a bold idea but in the end it should work out best in everyones intrest. the route of carnival can change in the opposite direction from fauxauchau to choc where they can have stage presentations of each band and a home for our carnival an put a rest to all our venue issues

How dumb!!!!! The SLP is not going to win any new friends with these time of statements. That is what we St Lucians wanted.....what the heck do you mean?

They voted out the SLP because they no longer seem in tune with the wishes of the people. Saint Lucians do have that right you know?

Why don't your party approach the people from a point of seeking forgiveness from them? Why do people like you continually bash the electorates.

The people did not make a mistake- the SLP did!!!!!

The more you people bash the electorates the harder their hearts are going to become. They have enough to deal with. St Lucians don't need political hacks with a stick beating them down for voting against labour.

The last I know it was not a sin to voting against any party!!!!

My my my ... if an ant dies in the middle of the road, the event emerges as political.

What St Lucia needs for carnival (definitely NOT politics), is a proper NATIONAL CARNIVAL COMMITTEE, and NOT the CDF who does not seem to have the organisational skills to take on such an event.

From the day the MPP was earmarked for reconstruction, CDF should have been on the ball, in locating a suitable venue, even if it meant RENTING or LEASING the spot of land "ian" pinpointed (Ian - the land you spoke about, actually belongs to somebody).

The CDF also seem to have an aversion to utilisng SAMAAN'S PARK (for whatever reason only they can identify), which is an IDEAL location for the launch of carnival. Samaan's Park may be a tad small for the event, but with proper organisation, it can be done.

WAKE UP CDF - plan for the long term, get a proper management team together, put your prejudices aside, plan a proper carnival ... or better yet put together a proper NATIONAL CARNIVAL COMMITTEE to oversee carnival celebrations - islandwide.

And to my fellow St Lucians ... please stay away from mouthing political nonsense (which it seems, you know NOTHING about), for mismanaged events. This makes you look ignorant in every sense of the word.

The statement before the last, What forgiveness are you talking about? Should the SLP ask for forgiveness for providing us with universal secondary education, was about to provide universal hearth care, two sporting stadia, two state of the art highways, a car park, two government office blocks, a state of the art prison, many police stations, many fire stations, a few fisheries complexes, etc. We would never have had this discussion about carnival venues if we did not make that mistake of electing this none visionary government into office, because the SLP was about to build a state of the art cultural complex. You could put it how you want, the people know they made a mistake, because SLP is not the ones suffering, the people are the ones suffering. The bright person who want to blame the CDF, and claims that people are political and do not know what they are talking about. He or she must know that the CDF is working on a tight budget and is so much they can do, without the input of central government. The CDF is there to organize events and it is the government role to provide venues. The CDF are just ordinary civil servants like everybody else, they cannot make policies as to the building of venues. This government has no cohesive policies because a minister like Spida can just come up and say there will be no carnival at the park, without providing and alternate venue. In the days of the UWP, we only had the Mindoo Phillip park and we use to keep everything there, internal cricket, football, parades, carnival etc. Now we have many more venues, thanks to the SLP. UWP is in power and they create a crisis for venues, and people want to tell me we did not make a mistake!

My my my everything is political, let us blame somebody else and give the politicians a free ride, although they are the ones we elected are paying to take care of our taxes and to put things, eg venues in place for us. Let is shift blame to the CDF. The government is also shifting blame to everyone else other than themselves. Look now they are blaming the police commissioner for crime in the country because they replace him and CREATED a post for him. Is that all the vision the government we elected have? What about equiping the police? What about the forensic lab? What about enforcing the laws? etc,etc

I gree 100% . SLP is a party of TURN-OFF.

The best thing that comes to mind is roro, double talk, hate, divisiveness and all the things that makes our society worse.

It's almost like having a group of people with a vicious agenda. For people like me look on the outside association with the SLP spells trouble.

Look at the simple topic about carnival being in limbo. All of a sudden it has a political slant to it. I sure don't want to live in St Lucia where if we have to be friends I have to be SLP and know how to hate fellow St Lucians.

I know you are not informed about what is happening in St Lucia today. Who have created more hate and roro in the last 3 1/2 years in St Lucia than the uwp? Tell us what good has come to St Lucia since the uwp came to office? Everything happening in St Lucia is in roro and confusion today. You must come to St Lucia and compare the amount of St Lucians following the two parties events and you will see which party is the TURN OFF. The people writing on this board is not the SLP, they are just normal citizens who do not like what the uwp is doing in St Lucia. What you have to be afraid of in St Lucia is the amount of crime happening today, not SLP hating anybody, because both parties are hating, not only the SLP and that did not start today, it was happening a long time ago.

Because it's been happening a long time persons like you must continue the trend?

God, please put a hand...with the jihadist mentality towards politics in the country.

Nah, nah, nah, I can't believe what the person before the last wrote. Ok, tell us how many UWP supporters have joinned SLP in the last four years. Other than Lawn give us some solid fingers. The person that say that labour is a turn off party could not be far from the truth. It's you'll sick ways about politic that's the turn off. When was the last time in the last four years you saw flambeaus leaving the UWP to join labour in drove. You'll to busy plotting negative vibes to even notice that flambeaus eh joining labour. No body saying that UWP is perfect but when you have a party made of sick minds I can understand why you'll heads are still buried in the sun. How is it people eh running to SLP. Ask yourself the question.

Why must people run to the SLP? SLP is in opposition, we all know if people show they support the SLP, they would be fired from their jobs by the party who you say that is so loving and do not hate. Do not worry the time is very short only 1 1/2 years to go, and we will see the results at the polls, remember i told you that. UWP is in office, you spoke about people not joining the SLP, which people are joining them in droves? Have you noticed the calibre of new candidates that is joining the SLP? If SLP was so bad, do you think good people would have joined them as candidates? Who are the sick minds you are talking about? One question i want to ask, are we better off in St Lucia today since the uwp took office? I want people to answer that question.
