Another mentality where people do not consider the consequences of there behaviour towards the public at large or other animals. I have seen 'training' of dogs where two dogs face each other and are taunted by irresponsible adults so they will attack each other; the dogs are then vicious towards everything and anything. Usually they are then tied under or near houses 'to protect' the house, I would argue that these owners are cold hearted stupid people who have no regard for any life but love to inflict suffering to living things. In this so called Christian society why don't people respect all living creatures as the bible says, or are the people of this island too 'dumb' to understand the concept that living creatures means all including animals.
My heart goes out to the child, I hope the dog recovers, and enjoys a long life as a childs precious beloved pet.

You can learn a lot about people by the way they treat animals. All these strays and the stabbing of turtles.
