One can understand the legal implications for discussing a matter before the court. I think the issue most people have, has been the lack of accountablity from the office of the DPP. Mr St Romain is not the only one being denied a speedy trail. Their excuse has been lack of resources. Madame DPP the citizens of this country are not interested in your conviction rate, all we want is a judiciary which serves us all. We need to revisit that section of the constitution which deal with the DPP's office.
It was about time, some decency, discipline and fairmindedness be placed by the Authorities on the untrained, unprofessional. semi-literate, not well educated idiots that pass as Journalists in St. Lucia.
These men and women, are barely educated and can barely speak English properly. Their knowledge on any issue id particularly deficient. It is shameful.
Bravo, Mr. Glasgow, Solicitor General. It was about time some good sense was brought into this Country.
I agree with the blogger above, but wish to state that Victoria whatever her name is, has been a complete waste, should never have been appointed to such a post, and is downright incompetent. And all of St. Lucia knows this. In the Public interest, she must be relieved of that position.
I do not have enough information at my disposal to comment on this case but however I will say this: WHY DOES IT TAKE AN ETERNITY FOR ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL TO EVEN TAKE OFF IN ST. LUCIA??
I honestly hope the idea so nicely articulated in the joint statement could result in a complete stop to journalistic infantile/cockiness in Saint Lucia.

ST. Lucia is in need of real men, such as the current chief of police, who will stand to protect and defend the island and it's inhabitants at all cost. It is about time the powers that be put the laws of the land into effect and put a halt to some of these so called journalist who seem to think that they can inflence public opinion with hear say.

The issue is not the st lucian journalist, its the DPP office. Her failure to get that case and many others going. We would like her to issue stats on the case load, aging and disposal report. Like someone said earlier we donot want her conviction rate, this is useless to us.
The problem is the Saint Lucia Journalists who are too lazy to investigate cases and present facts...not opinion. They must stop relying on the so-called "official press release". But, come to think of it, they call themselves "media workers" which, to me, suggest they are not real journalists but a collection of men and women who have no sense of direction! The Director of Public Prosecution therefore is not the real problem.
The media workers did not have Mr. St. Romain on remand for eight years. The legal system, including his own counsel. The media workers too have failed to provide us with useful and necessary information.
That DPP is the biggest clown St.Lucia has in their Circus Court. Why pay them idiots with the poor tax payers monies? This woman is not fit to try no one, she's incompetant no knowledge of the law. How in the hell can someone be on remand for ten years without being tried? This disgraceful, egotistical idiot who wouldn't know common sence if it smacked her upside the head. Please deliver her of her high paying robbing tax payers job.

Base on your opinion, its the media workers who have mr St Romain on remand for eight years and not the crown.
