Is Allen’s UWP knocking on deaths door?

Dear Sir:

The palace coup is complete, with the help of strong gravediggers. Oh, then where is Allen? He is nowhere to be found. Not for long, a source leaked. He is chilling out somewhere in Miami; he will some soon come back. I guess he is looking for the loads of money to pay for his promises. The convention staff, cheerleaders and delegates are not happy, still waiting for their money.

Listening to the news, only one lonely “poodle” is out there leading the charge. The other is the sour grapes chairman on my television screen without his make-up. Oh… will the new leader of the opposition (LOO), tom-girl, need a driver to make use of the jeep that she crucified Stephenson King for accepting from Kenny Anthony? “You know!” said a King supporter, insisting that I share the secret with her. She would not give up; only to drop another teaser on me: who will be the lucky one to escort LOO, tom-girl, at official functions! How is me, eh… you asking all these questions. I don’t know. Ask the village boys and girls.

Ah, ah… the real show in town was Stephenson King, on RealFM on Thursday morning. That was a real blockbuster, for real, people. In Creole, mind you. I only hope Allen can top that, wee mama! Did you listen to the show? I can’t wait for the Richard Frederick Show in the house of assembly (so he says), now that the bandits have taken down the King, mouth will open and story will jump out.

The hot soaps I want to know before the Richard Frederick Show is the Catherine Sealys Venezuelan connection. mi baga! No more moo-moo pills, its full disclosure from now on. United With Poison (UWP) and they shall become one in thine hand; high class hypocrisy has turned on the King. They promised and delivered a well executed plan for losing the 2011 general election. The whisky and champagne was flowing nonstop in Rodney Bay celebration with scorpions and leeches. I wonder for how long. There’s something called reverse osmosis. My three little birds tell me sit tight, it’s never over until the fat lady sings, and you know that eh no joke!

Now submission to the master, like the colonial days, is back in full force, I cannot wait to see the “LOO tom girl” submit to her UWP master Allen, and to Kenny in the House of Assembly. And, by the way, the United PAC and Women in Action (WIA) are under strict submission to leadership to stay away from Facebook and other social media, or else the whipping boy will spare no one. Yes, plantation rule is back again. PAC and WIA are annoyed, I am told. Hey, what can they do aside from Hollywood acting, right, as they painfully waiting the money! It is too late to jump ship. To do that is suicidal. The other way around is to continue the usual Friday fasting and praying.

Whooo, I am beginning to get hot flashes, now it’s time to cool off before I overheat. I am told as soon as the moo-moo pills run out, the bull dog will bite hard. The Richard Frederick Show will be on nationwide. After that, the ungrateful and sour grape losers from Allen's UWP will have to lick their wounds. They will find the going rough and may have to bury their heads in the sand.

Anyone who understands politics would know that political parties exist for one reason,to form the government.Therefore,anytime the the members believe(rightly or wrongly)that the current leader will not be able to make the party achieve this objective then they will look to someone else.Plain and simple.This happens all the time throughout the world in democratic countries.Right here in St.lucia when the SLP realised that Julian Hunte would not be able to lead them to victory they through him out and replaced him with Kenny Anthony(in a coup-style manner)King was replaced in a a democratic manner.The people spoke:More people spoke then than when Cybelle CENAC was removed to make way for KING.King was delighted to to replace Cybelle but he is really angry that he is being replaced.The positions are different but the reason for the replacements are the same.
Percieved inability to lead the party to victory whether it is at the constituncy or national level.
Party members loyalty is not to the party leader but to the party and its collective interest,which is to win elections.Julian Hunte found out the hard way and King with all his years in politics apparently was so naive that he also learned the same way.
All organizations go through such power shifts.The SLP did not disintergrate when Julian Hunte felt betrayed and left the party.The UWP did not disintegrate when Vaughn Lewis felt betrayed an left the party.In like manner UWP will not disintegrate if King decides to leave the party(right now he has only two options;either stay and work in the interest of the party or leave)Frederick also has two options.They are similar to king's options.No individual is bigger that the party(although it looks like Kenny is bigger that the SLP)
King and frederick ,and like many before them foolishly believe that as long as the branch is with them they do not need the party.Why they are not aware that the branch is a subset of the party and therefore cannot work independently of the party.Anytime the party is of the view that the branch executive and the mp is not working with the executive and the rest of the party then the executive can call a meeting of its supporters to elect persons who are interested with working with.when this happens the previous executive con no longer call themselves UWP branch.In effect the mp and his constituency executive would become independent.
.Independent candidates do not win seats in St.lucian politics.(this has happened only once during the 1950's )The only possible winner in such a situation where an mp feels betrayed and contests the next election as an independent is that both he or she and the party he or she left will lose the seat.(micoud north was an exception rather than the rule)
King would be wise,if he still wants his political life to continue to work with the party thhelp it win the next general elections.On the other hand,He and frederick can resign their seats,force two bye-elections and see if they are popular enough to win back their seats even though both UWP and SLP will contest these by- elections.
Do like Sarah flood.You can't work with the party leader and executive and the rest of the party ,leave and let the people decide through elections.

RICHARD FREDERICK always have a bomb to drop, that is on himself. Who can remember the bomb on KENNY!! A bomb on TERRACE!! Still waiting to hear the visa revocation Bombshell, I guess we not gonna hear about this one now. STEVENSON KING if you know what's good for you, PLEASE DISTANCE yourself from this PROCRASTINATOR....he is just using YOU. Leaders come and go but the party remains,be a team player don't fall for the games that the SLP are playing. Take for example RUFUS BOUQUET was FIRED twice by SIR JOHN and you brought him back in your cabinet, remain the humble person everyone know you to be and WORK with your PARTY and PLS leave RICHARD where he's at cuz he's on the path to destruction. PLEASE DON'T LET HIM TAKE YOU WITH HIM.

Saint Lucians had better grow some political maturity rather quickly. Political retardation is in much evidence in almost all of the discussions on the LOO issue.

It is very unfortunate that this country's population does not have what it takes to pass useful comments on what is going on politically in the country today.

On balance, despite what is happening as the winners and losers come to grips with the realities of the bloodless UWP palace coup, we are passing up a great opportunity to put the country on a real course to meaningful transformative development.

However, it is lamentable that the much-needed political maturity that would strengthen us and further our national development from all this, is still in a limited supply, with no great manifestation of its presence anywhere to form any kind of critical mass.

Will we ever get over our national tendency to blabber and froth regarding every serious national issue?

Smart-ass politics appears to have dictated the creation of this stupendously egregious anomaly of deliberately selecting the political leader of a party as someone who has no legitimate presence in the country's highest deliberative body, namely, the parliament.

It is both asinine and grossly disrespectful of one of the key and SUPREME NATIONAL institutions in the country.

Only politicians in diapers would ever countenance and accept this kind of lunacy. But then, only in Saint Lucia.
