From Hero To Zero

With such a dire scenario I can well imagine a concerned parent advising his offspring against aspiring to the political position of Finance Minister!

Problem is that our PMs believe that it is their sacred right and entitlement as PM, to be also the maximum leader and dog-in-the-manager title-holder of Minister of Finance.

That is the ceremonial model of the premiership in the former ex-colonies. The PM takes on the role and political template from colonial Administrator.

That worked well when we were recipients of grants from here and there to help contain the influence of the old USSR. The cold war helped.

No longer important geo-politically we are on our own to engage in all types of bad governance and financial malpractice.

Our ignorance of financial management leaves the entire country vulnerable to sorts of political malfeasance. All the while other conniving government members employ mendacity and other evasive means to allow other fellow cabinet members to line their pockets, leaching monies from the public purse. Some are just chaffing at the bit to continue where they left off. The ready-made country-bookie bastard excuse is always this. 'The other side did that while they were in office'.

Kenny is neither trained in Finance nor has any experience in that area to help the country. To add insult to injury, his key advisors are James Fletcher an Agriculturist and soil technician, another trained in education techniques at the OECS Secretariat, and the list goes on.

Persons ill equipped to assist the country are the ones advising Kenny Anthony.

KENNY ANTHONY MUST GO.

@ 3:59 PM - to be replaced with another incompetent trougher.

Someone needs to come and clean out the stables.

I totally agree #1...He should advise his son, Allen Chastanet, to keep far, far away from being finance minister!!
