I did not think I would agree with you so soon after your ill advised position on the Chastanet affair and outline in your piece "Ignorance Vs Racism". Like you I have grown to view these pro-democracy protests with lots of scepticism and miss-trust. Since when did the right seek the support of the popular masses to effect any change as we have seen in the last few years? I always felt that's was not their mode of operation. To me it was more of a case of using their economic power and wealth to exert their influence and control over key social institutions. What really set me thinking was the long and extended length of time protesters keep up their protest with no sign of them losing steam especially in Venezuela and in the Ukraine. I tended to ask myself "how do these people survive"? Are they getting some financial support from someone or some organisation? Needless to say what conclusion I came to.
