Sorry to hear about your ordeal, madam.

Like you, I have no trust whatsoever in the RSLPF, in fact, they disgust me - everytime I think this Police Force could sank as low as it could, they surprise me, they completely and thoroughly surprise and disgust me!!

Hold up folks. One example of unprofessionalism, and might I dare say a glaring lack of proper training in the "service" aspect of policing, should not be used to describe the entire RSLPF.

This particular police officer needs retraining on one of the critical aspects of policing which is "public service". A police officer must understand that he is in the service of the public and that he should reognize examplars of the type that came to him for assistance. These people make the work of the police easier in that they provide the "peace officer" a chance to prevent the escalation of a misdemeanor into a full blown felony. Police officers must always relish these occasions and in so doing encourage the public to do the same at every opportunity.

I had a scary situation with a police officer once. And had it not been for a friend or aquaintance of the police officer I could have been a victim of abuse of power by an ignoramous who happened to be a police officer.

But in the majority of instances where I have had to have interaction with the police (it has been few )it has been a good experience. There are some professionals in the RSLPF and there are some misfits as well.

Anyway if this police officer is true and committed to his professional improvement he will view this as a teachable moment and a learning experience for him/her. It might just be a clear case of him/her being simply lazy. That is not a good professionalism trait.

Is there a public complaints commission? Normally I wouldn't blame the officer for difficulties carried out in attempting to perform his duties but here it is a clear case of indifference on the officer's part.

He should be reported to the Commissioner.
