SLP’s fear of Allen Chastanet reaches new heights

I am not UWP but I agree with this article. SLP must stop being so publicly on record as being afraid of Chastanet. These tactics sends out the wrong signal that they are really, really worried.

I hold no brief for the Slp, but you article is also cheap. Thats our big problem. Chastanet is putting himself before the electorate as the representative of Soufriere and not for the post of tourism minister. Any wonder the politicians mess with our minds so easily. The important issue is how Dhalson or Chastanet plan to represent the people of Soufriere. That is why i beleive that the way we elect our reps should be changed to ensure that we make the distinction between electing a rep as opposed to electing a government. I feel strongly that we should elect our prime minister in a separate vote and allow him a free hand in appointing his cabinet. Too many go into politics to be ministers and not to represent the constituents who elected them. The power to decide who is prime minister must be taken out of the hands of the parliamentarians and in the hands of the electorate. Give the prime minister the power to hire and fire his cabinet members without having to look over his shoulders for support from parliamentarians. Other checks and balances must be put in place to ensure there is no abuse of authority.

Agree with this writer, and unless party memebers realize that Kenny, by actions of his vengefull-anger since after loosing the last elections, St.Lucians will refuse them (SLP) again in the upcoming elections. It was a Shame that they revoted Him as party leader again.

The SLP must realize that Kenny and Jn'Pierre must go as party leaders. Thy need to revamp and make changes.

In my humble opinion, he has brought Confusion, Hatered, Misinformation to St. Lucians.

Well i wonder what next. These writers are the ones causing confusion in forums like this. his article is clearly written by a UWP supporter. Its like another speaker on a hot radio station who openly run a campaign for the UWP. But remember the people as a whole will be the one to determin the fate of both parties in a short time to come. The time is drawing near and UWP supporters just cant stand to hear the many wrong doings of this administration during their short term in office. Lucians are no longer falling for chicken and rum and be hungry for another four years later get it right. Party over and UWP will be in the wilderness for quite some time after the up-coming election.

Over to you LPM. It's yours to win.

While I don't like the SLP, I'm not all that keen on having King lead the country for another 5 years. Plus all our land is getting sold to the highest bidder, scaring away our native people. Whatever happened to securing land for locals by keeping prices artificially low? Let the foreigners by the land for US$200,000 and $500,000 but give me the same land for EC$200,000 and $500,000.

Anonymous said...

Zeigy i dig what you are saying. But the messed up thing would be to have the SLP and Kenny return to manage our finances. This to me would be like jumping from the frying pan and into the fire.

Anonymous said...

Kenny is a tyrant, he doesn't want anybody else to lead.

Like the masters that St. Lucians selected to hide, modern day slaves are about to elect our khaki coloured masters for another round of five-year misery.

And for the drunk who wrote about electing a prime minister and letting that person choose a cabinet, this idea is idiotic.

First you must get a party that will endorse this and make it a campaign promise. Then people have to give that party the required majority it needs to push this through the legislature.

Therefore all of this is idle talk and wishful thinking. The immediate future requires getting rid of the deadwood in government together with the Ali Baba cabinet. Let the SLP get rid of Kenny and the entire nation will breath a sigh of relief. No more commissions to waste taxpayers money and no more useless court cases that cannot put tiefing MPs behind bars.

A clean slate of candidates from overseas and independents that will form a coalition is our only hope. A lot too, will depend on the groundwork of de fellas from LPM.

Why hide your identity; such a coward.

Writer, what rock did you crawl from under. Tell me something I don't know which makes sense or keep your trap cemented.

Idiot those running to be Prime minister will be from political parties. This crap about electorate voting for different candidates and saying they voting for Kenny and king is idiotic. The people from Vfort south are the ones who voted Kenny and the people from Castries north voted king. Now tell me who made King PM? Who made Kenny PM. My point is that unless we take the power from the parliamentarians as to who becomes PM we will remain in shit.Let the bastards do their jobs as parliamentary reps, because thats what they are elected for and not to be ministers. Those greedy bastards who go into politics to advance themselves would stay away, because the difference between a ministers salary and a parliamentarian is big. As it stands the Prime Minister is the member of parliament who gets majority support from the elected members. Note that it is the 17 members who decide and not those of any particular party. Remember how Louisy was forced out. A majority including those from his own party voted against his budget.Tell me what do you think Chastanet main reason for running is? Is it represent the people of Soufriere or become a minister with more clout as an elected member? This question goes to all of those vying to represent the various constituents

When Mickey Pilgrim Was made Prime Minister it was because he received support from both the uwp and slp parliamentarians.

I fully agree with this article. Anyway why not a white president in St. Lucia. Blacks are a minority in the USA and they have a black president. Whites are a minority in St. Lucia. Chastanet has done a very good job.
Anyone talking on this forum about Kakhies are racist.

Anonymous said...

Typical SLP racist behavior. When they were in power it was the same white Mr. Micheal Chastanet their rubbed shoulder with. Kenny even gave him a diplomatic passport and made an amb at large. If you check who were their friends??? Butch Stewart. They were all over the place having breakfast, lunch and dinner with him. When they were flying all over the world as if the money was coming out of their pockets-who were they going to begging for aid. It was the same white man. Don't let the SLP toy with our minds. Those bustards know how to make St Lucians hate for hating and politics sake. Let's do them a favour. Time to put the SlP to sleep.

Kenny is khaki too, in fact his family were slave masters.

Anonymous said...

People aren't afraid of Chastenet, but what an elected Chastenet represents. Some of these khaki-coloured people deeply believe that they have a divine right to lead because of their money.

The fact that the SLP under Kenny went to bed with the Chastenets and the khaki-coloured mercantile elite group all the while they ignored the unemployment of the vast majority of unemployed youth from 90% of the population, does not mean that this must be repeated under a UWP administration.

A clueless Kenny Anthony created two gang driven ghettos to terrorize the lives of St. Lucians, while he boasted 7% GDP rates of growth in the economy. It is as if people eat and wear GDP statistics.

The same thing with mate. Chastenet keeps on boasting of tourism arrival figures. Indeed arrivals help, to pay 2/3 of our bills. But the chronic unemployment is what neither himself, King nor Kenny have been able to tackle or even seriously address with any convincing policy.

In the meantime, the drug gangs are harassing the innocent people in the country. Not even the PM is sensitive enough to the problem. It came right home to him in his constituency office. He could have been injured or killed for his lack of sensitivity to the problem.

People can talk partisan politics till the cows come home. The terror in our streets, and on the block remain real.

Now, the young are idolizing drug lords and have no skills to make a living other than by selling drugs.
Ignorant talk is what has taken us to where we are today.

We can continue with this and have curfews as in Tivoli Gardens to manage the gang wars as the drug lords take over the country block by block. King will have his idiotic forced smile as usual as he takes us to the deep end with him.

I was at a rally at fond st jacque and i can tell you mr chastenet has no chances i was visiting and even as i drive around there are work that needs to be done and in my honest opion this goverment has to go. i met mr chastenet in miami at the sea trade conference and as a guest speaker and what he said about what Again my honest opinion H'is fake and phony can't be trusted Shouldn't we try to educate the electorate on issues and not try to buy votes because i want to be elected it's ashame how mr chastenet is trying to win in soufriere but people are'nt stupid as was said before no more black bottle and further more i live in the virgin islands

Anonymous said...

With all their wealth, the Chastenets have not been known for any significant effort at philanthropy in St. Lucia. So why all of a sudden he wants to become PM? Why when he has never had any concrete vision for the black majority in St. Lucia?

The answer is simple. Look at the "white shadows" behind him. All they want is to put their boy in there to make more money. The rest of the population can go to hell.

Mr. Chastenet does not need the money. He has enough already. But he and the white shadows are very greedy. They want more from the needy population that they have been keeping down since the colonial days.

The more they suck the blood out of the poor, the more the stupid stand by and cheer on at their success.

St. Lucian have minds of slaves. They love to work for other people and other khaki-coloured masters. After all Saint Compton and country bookie Kenny trained them so.

JOhn Taxi. I am from Fond St Jacque and I can tell you that Dalson is losing big time. Chastanet has made some serious in roads in the area and this is what the SLP is afraid of. Perhaps if someone elese where to join the race things might be different. But as far as I see it in a race between Dalson and Chastanet, Dalson is yesterday's news!

Anonymous said...

as i know most of those lucians in the virgin islands can barely speak proper english and john taxi seem to be no different. reminds of those people in the old days that went to the UK and came back to stlucia thinking stlucia is the same. nutt job

SLP IS TERRIBLE AFRAID OF CHASTANET. THEY ARE VERY WORRIED ABOUT LOOSING THE SOUFRIERE SEAT,BUT I THINK THAT CHASTANET WILL WIN THAT SEAT VERY EASILY.

Anonymous said...

I’ve always supported the ideology of the SLP party, St. Lucia for St. Lucians. But now they are all the same, they don’t stand for anything anymore, except their pockets. I do agree with this article, it’s very enlightening. However, the title is misleading, as I was anxious to read about the fear that Allan Chastanet has puts in the hearts of everyone

Anonymous said...

Why is it taking ALL Saint Lucians to recognise that ALLEN CHASTANET or anything else close to MICHAEL CHASTANET, must never see the daylight in politics in this country ever again. Dirty wretch John Compton pulled a nasty old thing on us Lucians, by bringing in ALLEN Chastanet and AUSBERT D'AUVERGNE, LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT on us Lucians.

A greater hand took care of D'Auvergne hurriedly and swiftly. And Allen, is next in line.

I won't waste my time pointing out all the many reasons ALLEN CHASTANET must not be allowed in Government, except to recall two fundamental ones. His father and by extension his family's treatment with gouging sky-high food prices, I somehow don't feel too comfortable with how that family amassed so much wealth in such a short period, buying up hotels, supermarkets, cinemas, wholesale joints etc. etc. etc and then the nasty old scandal starring KEITH MONDESIR and ALLEN CHASTANET, in the TUXEDO HOTEL AFFAIR, and the JUDGEMENT of the OECS COURT OF APPEAL ON THAT MATTER, which in effect describes those two wrteches and the rest of the KING GOVERNMENT, as a bunch of CROOKS AND CRIMINALS.Not fit to be in Office.

Anonymous said...

Yes indeed! The ENTIRE King cabinet is UNFIT for public office after the Tuxedo Affair. But some people in Choiseul see an ex-con so fit and good for the country that they elected him to office. What a sad commentary on the mentality of so many St Lucians.

We need a clean slate of candidates, like independents like Didier and those guys from the LPM

LPM will NEVER EVER FORM THE GOVERNMENT IN SAINT LUCIA!

Anonymous said...

LPM may never form the government of St. Lucia because the idiotic propaganda machine is owned and directed by the opposition parties.

St. Lucians are basically dishonest people. BORBOL is their primary motivation for existing. It is their way of life.

They even elect ex-convicts with criminal pasts to government. So what can you expect.

You may be a supporter of this insult to decent people. This breed is dying so fast that the voices of evil is all that will be left in St. Lucia soon. The devil will take the hindmost. Those who can will head overseas. Jukebois will fill the ears of the dumb and the dumbest as the intelligent runaway overseas for a better life. The retard we have as PM cannot even protect his life far less the lives of others.

Talk your $#!@. Look around you. Smarter St. Lucians having been doing their best to give all those close to then choices other than living forever or growing up in Rick Waynes', Jukebois', Kenny's and King's hell hole, AKA 'Helen of the West'.

If King calls the election now, both the SLP and LPM will be in spot of trouble with candidates. But LPM and SLP would be a natural coalition with independents. SLP will not join with the UWP but would join with LPM.

LPM up to now has clean hands, a clean record and a bright future for St. Lucia.

Anonymous said...

Where do you get your facts from? Fenton Ramsahoye , the Chair of the Commission of Inquiry, said publicly that Dr. Kenny Anthony was NOT on trial and he did not require him to 'take the stand'. Also, what evidence do you have that those ads are from the SLP or that Dalcon is losing ground. Judging from last week's convention I would say that Allan should be scared. Incidentally, wasn't it Allan who opposed the SLP's move to increase cruise ship tourism, the same thing he is now taking credit for, like so many of his second hand 'ideas.'

Truth Hawk

Anonymous said...

I agree with you. If Kenny was smart he would have looked to the LPM for a broad coalition. Instead they prefer to trade insults with flambeau knowing full well that this kind of politics no longer works.

Anonymous said...

Truth Hawk????

Sounds more to me like Denial Hawk.
Who ever said that the COI meant that Kenny was on trial?? U idiot!

The responsiblity of the COI was to find or dig into things that Kenny did wrong. It found those things even if you chose to remain in denial.

I really don't know where this guy got his information from. It maybe true that there has never been such an increase in airlift to St.Lucia but I will assure you that Allen Chastanet had nothing to do with it, if you are talking about the thousand plus extra seats that Jetblue has added going to St.Lucia.

This is because, when I first mentioned flying to St.Lucia to Dave Barger (Jetblue's CEO) in 2005, his question was, where is St.lucia? He then promised me that he will look into it.
I've been reminding him since then until it became a reality. Not because Chastanet is the Tourism he should be credited with all good things that happens in the industry.

St.Lucians in position at large companies has been anonymously making their contribution to the development of their native country without much fanfare. When stuff like that happens we are quick to give someone credit without knowing the truth.

When Jetblue came calling, Chastanet on came along for the ride.

WHEN I READ HERE THAT SAINT LUCIANS ARE BASICALLY DISHONEST PEOPLE, AND THAT THEIR MOTIVATOR IS BORBOL, I HAVE TO SAY-------

GOD DAMN SAINT LUCIA, (THREE TIMES)

Anonymous said...

Well madam, wouldn't it be nice to go on the platform in the William Peter's Boulevard, and tell this much about Jet Blue on the first public meeting of the LPM coming up sometime this month?

Politicians always take the credit for other people's work. We know for sure that Chastenet has a memory problem. During the Court of Appeals Hearing on the Tuxedo affair, he said that at the cabinet meeting giving his friend unfair and illegal helpings from the Treasury, he said that he was not there. The records showed that he was.

This man has no credibility left. Claiming responsibility for increased airlift, when he may have had absolutely nothing to do with it, is small potatoes.
