I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Sir Vincent. I normally read excerpts of St. Lucia News in the Voice from far away Philippines where I now reside and this piece of news is particularly sad for me. I knew Vincent Floissac from my days at St. Mary's College from 1942 when it was till in Castries. Your description of his intellect, dedication and caring for others was well known then to most of us. His performance in his professional life is also testimony to his intellectual abilities and the high regard he had for calls of duty and assistance to others. St. Lucia and indeed the Caribbean owes Sir Vincent a great debt in his services to them and I hope in the course of time his memory will be recorded in a suitable manner for the coming generations. My heartfelt condolences go to his wife Lady Marilyn and their siblings.
