This attacks on youth and sport councils are truly unwarranted, are these associations and they leaders forgetting, where they came from. They have no vision for the development of youth or sports, they are all puppets. Instead of coming together to see how best everyone can work for the total development of youth and sports everyone is seeking for they own selfish gain.
the NYC and the ministry of youth and sports have failed to address the problems that youth and sports councils face in st lucia. The ministry spends thousand of dollars on sports awards and youth awards and forgetting about the structure they put in place, while the NYC is making noise for money from government and has failed to develop the district youth and sports council, its time to get up and smell the coffee.
everyone is to be blame!!!

The National Youth Council through its own doing has become a guard dog with no gums or teeth.

The District Youth and Sports Councils if they are to remain should be overhauled, and streamlined to serve the needs of the nation in the 21st century.

Like the Department of Youth and Sports, the District Youth and Sports Councils in the present modus operandi, are hampering the development of sports in Saint Lucia.

Instead of being the engine to drive forward the aspirations of the young people and the needs of this country, they are only engineering a reversal of development.

I am yet to hear from the NYC a comprehensive plan to develop sports at the district levels, and to bring about a change int he administrative structure at the governmental level.

To make the situation worst, many of these so-call attacks are not attacks but a public washing of linen by officials of these very organisations, some of whom are civil servants.
