Stick it to them.

Would this finally mean that a ferry service between more of the Eastern Caribbean islands would be considered?

Would that be a better investment than LIAT at the moment.

Dear Readers,
Be very careful to take Allen Chastanet's statements and pronouncements with a grain of salt. Chas was a lackey for Butch Stewart with Air Jamaica, and, it is alleged that he is also a lackey for anybody who can butter his bread. Keep in mind that Chas is a hotel owner, and that his take on things will all be coloured by the conflict of interest created by being Saint Lucia's Minister of Tourism and a hotel industry businessman at the same time. Don't you find it more than a bit strange that Chas is taking on LIAT in public? LIAT is a truly indigenous Caribbean airline, and is partly owned by the governments of the region, with eleven Caribbean governments as Board Members. The Government of Saint Lucia is one of the Members of the Board. Shouldn't Chas hold such discussions privately with LIAT, as a matter of principle? And after such discussions, only after, he should present his findings to the Public, who has a right to know? Don't you realize that something might be stinking here? We must LOOK before we LEAP my people. Before we JUMP on LIAT and say that flights to New York are cheaper than LIAT flights within the Caribbean, we must ask Chas to explain to the people what he said he learned in Economics about ECONOMIES OF SCALE. LIAT's market is a VERY SMALL market compared to the New York, Miami, London, California , etc., markets, so its operating costs are much higher. Before we JUMP and WAIL, like L.T. Donelly above, we must study the issues. I repeat: BE WARNED that Chas is engaged in conflict of interest in such matters, and so we MUST NEVER take anything he says at face value. Let us do our research, study the various issues, which I'm sorry I cannot present to you dear readers on this BLOG, before we JUMP on LIAT's back. Donna.

We do't really care about the politics, we only care about lowering the fares, that's all. Our pockets are hurting.

anything that would see liat fares being reduced is welcomed. before we were allowed 2 pieces of luggage now only one. can you imagine as a student i paid 95 U.S. to carry a second piece of luggage to barbados. even worst is the fact that the plane was almost empty. on the other hand, what caused air jamaica to pull out of st. lucia..... as a student that was a low blow to my pocket........what is really going on!!!
