All well and good but how do you empower peoplet o take control of their lives when the law makers and law enforcers are often the law breakers. There are not enough role models for the young, or recognition of achievements, its almost a crime to be good at anything on this island. Where are the theatre's, who is sponsering sport? There is a massive rethink needed, and there needs to be a will by all to turn this physically beautiful island around.
This do not come as a suprise, and the problem is bigger then we ca imagine. To solve this, the people that are supposed to run St Lucia have to love people more then money. They have to invest in sports and schooling. People, schools and kindergarden must stop beating their children, with sticks, brooms, hose etc.. Hard Diciplin and hard punishment do not solve this problem. ( look at countries that kills criminals, do it help????) We must start building the right values from the they we born. If u live by the rule "be nice" u cant go wrong. Stop selling rum by the roadside, dont let busdrivers drink and drive, dont let govermentpeople do it. When u at work respect ur workplace, and dont drink. Nobody NEEDS a drink at work. Respect ur coworkes Have zero tolerance for guns, use military strategy and move the guns from the island. Its a small place we should be able to keep it free of crime. Dont let boys disrespect girls with their talks. Get the corruption out of government and police and banking. Push out the mafia, make sure they do not want to develope in your country. And stop praying to GOD every time life is hard. Stand up and do something with your life. Cuz God only helps the one that are willing to help them self. And how many times have u prayed and u are still where u are 20 years ago. Its not God that can help, its St. lucians as a people that can help and demand that the ministers do the best for Lucians and not them selfs. The people of St Lucia is a beautiful and smart people, use that to become better, Stop selling St. Lucia for nothing. Be proud of who you are and love ur self and each other. Stop listening to the people that likes to talk to much and follow the ones that do the work. Make sure that the Castries waterfront is run by people who wants to listen and want to do better then now. cuz if crime is growing then was it so smart to change goverment last time. Just for the change. I am not saying its was so much better before or if better at all. But make sure the next time election comes up, that you get someone who want to make change. Maybe a woman can do better, atleast they see things from another prespective. I dont now..but it would hurt me deeply top see St Lucia end up as a palce where the criminals runs the country, and if government sits around and think what they doing are right, then so be. Attitude to people, sorrundings and life is formed from the TOP and down. Cuz if the boss is bad, how can you expect your emploiees to be good. And taht goes for a country too.
