Well said Stingray, whoever you are. I commend the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ausbert Regis, for his proposal to introduce the Polygraph Test into the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. However, he MUST lead by example, and begin with himself. Then, he must continue, and get the test applied to ALL his police officers. Stingray, I love the initiative that you have taken with this article. Now, let me ask you to keep up the good work, and OBSERVE whether the Commissioner has the balls, decency and integrity to take the test. You have already issued the challenge to him, an honest and a decent challenge. It is now your duty, and that of the Voice newspaper, as well as other readers, to OBSERVE, record and report, to the people of Saint Lucia, what happens from here onwards, and KEEP the public informed as appropriate. This is a duty to your country, and you will be rewarded for your work. Let the music begin, and let COP Ausbert Regis lead by example!!! Donna.
By the way "Stingray" and "Anonymous" # 1, it is also the responsibility of ALL our HONOURABLE ministers of government to TAKE the Polyygraph Test as well. They have insisted that they have not pocketed millions of Taiwanese dollars in their personal bank accounts; they have not defrauded Customs of the revenue of the State; they have not told lies about their alleged secretly concocted plan to give John Compton a heart attack and strokes by rebelling against him in the Cabinet, etc., etc. Then, let them take the TEST after the Commissioner of Police has taken his. Let the ball roll Stingray.
TOP BRASE of the force, who is not doing their work. E.G i was in St vincent, i saw the police being paraded throughout the streets, by a ranked officer and are posted one by one along the way as they go along, and at certain times unknown to them during their tour duty, a rank officer visit them, to be sure that they are doing their work, and also to see about their welfare. In St Lucia officers are sent to the beat alone, so at nights SOME of the officers, take that liberty to go and sleep at the home of the other woman, whiles the top brase play games on the government computer, and draw their big salary. How many times have you seen police patrolling at nights in Castries? Police are sent to the beat, but no one cares, so you see no one on the beat, you. Do you think it is easy or safe to patrol the streets of Castries No polygraphing of the small ones will solve the problems unless the TOP do their JOB, from minister to commissioner.
