I agree with Prioritize. I have a trip planned for St. Lucia and I am considering cancelling due to increased crime. I am so sorry, I am sure you have many good people in St. Lucia and only a few are causing the problems. I certainly hope you get the problem resolved soon. I really was excited about visiting your beautiful Helen. Please do all you can to keep your citizens and visitors safe.

it will be just like in jamaica, where 44 civilians have been killed during the past days of rioting for protecting their drug lord from extradition to usa

It is quite sad that the honest truth is that unless something bad happens to a top ranking official, their family or a tourist that the island's problems are not addressed in a timely manner to the fullest of potential. I think it is time the government of the day starts acting like people with a budget because they honestly do have one. Instead of focusing on building a whole new hospital for the south to replace St. Jude's in a totally inconvenient location providing totally unnecessary and unaffordable facilites they should work towards improving what exist, use the donations received to do that and not seek another huge loan from the world bank or imf. In so doing they would be able to equip the officers and the stations with the proper facilities. I was glad to hear they opened their forensics unit but from where I stand I wonder how well the people there are informed and educated and whether or not they have the tools to make it a worthwhile investment.
