I have the utmost respect for Mr Tulsie for the great work that he is doing. As someone who lives in a Metro city in North America, I see first-hand what the impact of so called development has had on the environment. We must find a balance.

A useful piece Peter, although I regret the trivializing of the concerns of environmentalists. We do not assign greater priority to survival of wildlife over human beings. Simply put there can be human development without natural resource conservation. Flora and fauna are the source of the vast majority of drugs in our pharmacies. Without watersheds there is no water; without water there is no life. And there is no way to quantify the positive impacts on human health and the human spirit of a seabath, or a clear view of the seascape when causght in traffic; or the sight of the lush green mountains; or the chirps of a bird or the sight of a butterfly. These are some of the best stress-busters one can have. And they are free. Without them, we could well witness more suicides, murders and chronic illnesses

We have to find a balance between development and conservation. It's as simple as that.

Peter Josie we have not forgotten you as a Judas to St. Lucians. We tried our best to see you and the others get into power in 1979. What did you do?
Instead of writing these articles tell us about the the STABEX FUNDS. We still remember PETER JUDAS.
