Be honest with yourself - YOU ARE CYNICAL! However, in this instance you are right! To safeguard St Lucia from these reconstruction funds being stolen by our politicians and other unscrupulous persons, a protective commission MUST be set up IMMEDIATELY and have it overseered by a trustworthy international institution.
As a tourist to St. Lucia I am very saddened by the insincerity of the people. Lies, lies and more lies. The police are not sincere, have no interest in solving a crime. Walking home to our hotel a group of us were attacked at knife point and one seriously injured. Nothing was solved, we have heard nothing. Police came back and forth taking notes, but wrote on scraps of paper with a pencil. No proper forms were evident. One actually came back and tried to sell us a security system. Bizarre. TOURISTS BEWARE I say when visiting the Island. St. Lucia is not a relaxing place once one leaves the security of ones hotel.
