Sadly he probably isn't the only one. I wonder why they are charging him at this time, surely the knowledge that the weapon was missing would have been known from the records two years ago; is it that he has done something against someone with power, someone who can call in a few favours so was able to get the guy? I understandf that is the way this works on the island.
Doesn't that person have a name? Why is the Voice so bent on reporting stories halfway? If it's not important for the public to know who that person is then why report the incident at all? If it were any other local citizen of this country would the Voice withold his or her name?
For some time now the Voice has been engaged in some rather crappy reporting. I think they are reporting on the premise that the public really do not have a right to know so why feed us partial stories anyway?
It took all that time to realize that the gun issued to him was not returned upon his retirement? I sincerely hope that no crimes were committed with that weapon. A bien bon!!
After reading the article I was beginning to think that the reason the name was withheld was because the individual was a juvenile... Oh wait, he/she is a retiree...how funny!!! Whatever happened to journalistic responsibility??? half truths, half story. What was the purpose of reporting this so-called 'story' again...your point was..??? This is what I call journalistic 'margee'.
C C..said Dont be too quick to judge, A man is innocent until he is PROVED to be Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. What if the gun was planted to justify the arrest.. Would you want to hear what the ex officer has to say in his own defense? His name should be protected until a verdict is arrived at.. it is still early... Was there a crime report initiated when the firearm first disappeared.. Did the officer serve with dignity whilst employed ? I will give my support to a man who has given good service to the country I belong.. wait for the full story to unfold.. we need good officers. C.C
