UWI three universities do not even pretend to represent the needs of their very own countries, other than the obvious political ones. How does this anomaly national insularity hopes to ever address our economic requirements for global competitiveness.
At least our own institutions will have the flexibility to change course and adapt to changing needs, without having to beg a bureaucracy that answers to another island government which has its own national agenda and priorities.
It is a known fact that Dr. Kenny Anthony had to beg several years to the bureaucrats at the Cave Hill Campus to mount courses to meet the needs of St. Lucia.
UWI has gone the way of West Indies cricket. Pure tokenism.
