Even so, but Castries remains our one common denominator. It, more than any other part of the island, makes us St.lucians.

What??????????????

You doh mean that, really. Do you? You mean that CDC or Urine Town represents St. Lucia? You mean that a drug lord as representative of ghetto-land and the killing fields like the well-named GRAVEYARD is representative of St. Lucia?

Man, you are really sick! You are so sick. Are you for real? Are you on dope or smoking something?

I've been living abroad since 1977. And when I do run into a St.Lucian, we hardly ever talk about any other part of St.Lucia except Castries: the market, the boulevard, clarks and gaiety theatres, the square, and yes, even the CDC and the Graveyard.
Castries, despite its flaws, make us all St.Lucians.

You cannot be a true St.Lucian without a little bit of Castries in you. Keep politics out.

It started under Kenny as PM.

I sincerely hope I live to see the day Castries retains her pristine gown of glory.

A lot of the shops in the city are now like back street shops - and here I say the Asian shops are the biggest culprits (Chinese, Indian, etc)!! Next, are the wooden Ti-boutiques in the Jeremie Street area.

Bridge Street has lost its appeal, so has the Wm Peter Boulevard, and lastly Brazil Street.

Our so called Planning Ministry and its Minister have NO CLUE of how to "beautify" a city. And yes, we do have the people and means to do just that - such as hiring the creative industrialists in the private sector to clean and bring up Castries to better standards, which the Ministry could facilitate.

I eagerly look forward to what ABETTA Country has to offer. My advice; first get rid of the Asian community in the city centre, or ... hand them a Terms of Reference. Next, get the Min of Planning to KNOW what beautifying a city really means!!

Any Capital City is the direct representation of its people. Lucians are seriously lacking Pride ! One example, Police Headquarters. Most PD Headquarters around the world are very clean and well kept. Have you see ours ? It’s the most grimmest building in Castries. You don’t need massive funding to pick up some leaves, soap and water ? Pride People, Pride.
