We the people have applied for a symbol too, it is the 'middle finger' to all greedy, crooked politicians.
What's the big deal. I agree with LPM and the other people and parties. Why not give the fellas the symbol they want. why all of his cocomackac.
Just another example of the way goverment departments operate in this country, it beggsars belief that there is still no descision made around this issue and the election is around the corner. People should sue Goverment for not dealing with this sooner as this issue is making life very difficult for the candidates, as if things aren't difficult enough.
If King and company think they can play games, they must think twice.
This election is not a game, the future of my children is in doubt, and both parties better come good, the election is going to the wire.
We eating and drinking, receiving gifts from all,deciding in the final week of election, just a reminder.
No money for jobs and development, but plenty money for election campaign, fertilizer in Soufriere for votes,mattresses for votes, red cross supplies,- what a joke.
How comes is King alone you all blaming. Kenny, the so called forward thinking politician was in power for 10 years, how comes he did not change the election rules. Backwardness does not come from only King, it come from the SLP and Kenny too.
i must concur. slp wasted 9 years building white elephants but did nothing to prepare stlucia for the 21st century. our laws are still archaic and the list goes on. so will be casting my very first vote for the uwp.

think carefully, very carefully before you cast that vote. project into the future; ask yourself questions about your welfare and your kids and grand children's welfare. after having carefully analyse all what's happening now; then cast your vote accordingly...
The uwp goverment has been in office for almost 5 years and they had all the opportunity to make life better for all st lucians, But what do they do, was to enrich themselves and their cronnies.

These so called UWPs is in office but they still want to blame Kenny for their incompetence. "Kenny was in office for 10 yrs he did not change election rules." Nonsense, Which election rules they talking about? All they have to do is to issue the people with their symbols so that they could contest the election. This is delibrate ploy by them because they no, with all these parties and independent candidates, that will split their votes and will make them lose even worse than they already will lose.
Kenny never had 10 yrs in office as they want us to believe, it was 9 yrs. During that time there were 2 elections and there was never any problems for candidates to get symbols. Even the comedians staff party contested the election with ease.
The UWP operative who spoke about White Elephants, I want them to explain to us what is a White Elephant? First I must ask them to show us or point to us one (1) or even 1\2 of a Black Elephant their UWP achieved in 5 yrs? I want to know what would the UWP would have done if these White Elephants were not built by Kenny and the SLP? They has utilized our international W. E. sports stadium into a hospital. Our W.E. massive morden mental hospital is turned into an offshore University, whiles our madmen roam the streets in droves. They find the building to porch to be used by our poor poeple. Our beautiful W.E cricket ground is turn into and being distroyed by football and baccanal like carnival. Without this ground we would have been the laughing stock of the caribbean because all the other poorer islands have test ground now. Our two W.E. highways one in the north and one in the South are the best we have on island. Our Dane Pearlette Louisy School is the best preforming school on island. So explain to us how are the Prison, many sceondary schools, police stations, forensic lab, hotels, fire stations, 2 office blocks, carpark, health centers, fisheries complexes, homes for the poor, forest sky rides. etc, etc are White Elephants? We are still waiting for an Elephant from the UWP in 5 long years.

We cannot say people are talking pappyshow because some of us have a job to go to. We get a salary it does not matter how small. But there are some people with none, with children to feed, to be clothed and to send to school. So when you hear them talking about the people who they are paying to make things better for them, (politicans) never say they are talking pappyshow. That is what democracy is all about, vent your fastration over and over again the revalant authority will hear, then might do something about it.
Never insult our intellegence to tell us King and Kenny are the same. Open your eyes and see for yourself, look around St Lucia. How can you support UWP when these fellows have done nothing to move St Lucia forward? It does not matter what people say the election is between SLP and UWP, if you not SLP you must be UWP. I will tell you why, SLP has their core of voters which will not change and there are some people who will vote UWP it does matter what. The difference is, UWP has not preformed so they will lose a lot of votes from people who stay home because they will not vote UWP this time and they will never SLP for whatever reason. UWP will also loose votes by some fustrated people voting for other parties or independent candidates. So the more people who vote for other parties or independent candidates the better it will be for the SLP, because none of these parties or independent candidates can win a seat. That is what UWP know, thus the reason for giving them a hard time to get the symbols.

Yes, SLP and UWP have their core votes but that does not mean there isn't enough votes out there for a 3 rd party or independent candidate to go after.

Since such a large number of people accept this kleptocracy for what passes for government in St. Lucia, it is fair warning for those who can to leave the country now to escape its dogs.
