$10,000 and $5,000 bails, respectively - for possessions of drugs and ammunitions. Am I hearing these bails amount right?

The judiciary/legal sytems in St Lucia are the ones encouranging these crimes.

Grenades now? Life without parole.

Congrats to the police.

Members of the judiciary are afraid of the drug cartels? They arrested the KARTEL singing group in Jamaica. Is that some are losing the cover and protection of the Drug Baron?

Shakes was a known thug in GUYANA under Burnham-Member of the house of Israiel. We in St.Lucia are quick to embrace persons without first investigating their background.Once a thug always a thug....

Burn them at the stake, with a stake up theirs. Say no to drugs and the under world.

Excellent Work, Commissioner Francois and your team of Police Officers.

Bravo. Three Cheers.

We need to praise the Police and Customs on a job well done. The incident raises some serious questions. Shakes has been a public figure for a number of years - role model in the sports arena (boxing and football). I am not judging the situation because the courts have not yet heard the evidence and facts of the case. As a sports administrator I wish the smoke here would be just smoke and no fire. However I am not so naive. I know Shakes can be big (good or bad). It is my hope that he will remain aware of his powerful place as a role model to our many troubled and vulnerable youth and make things right with them in the form of an apology/explanation/expression of regret. It may also be a good exercise for his conscience.

Aren't we concerned about the raw deal metted out to young people by parents, politicians, the public service system(s) and now 'sports'? Who cares and what hope do we give them?

Another problem in this 'Shakes' episode. Was his success in breaking barriers in St Lucia attributable to 'our' liking/trusting of things accented foreign as against local (Shakes don't get me wrong - I respect you as a St Lucian). Meow.............

Were the drugs and ammunition coming to him from Guyana?

We must never forget that the first wave of arm robbery against banks in St lucia were performed by Guyanese and Trinidadian nations. Ever since that time, our boys get in on it and the country have been going to down, down, down.

Have u ever heard of sheep in wolve clothing/Shakes been into that stuff since he came to the island every Gt and lucian he associated with knows that,he never work a job all his years living there..He knows he is a dealer and fronting under football and boxing. Why would i want a drug dealer to be my kid role model.he knows the truth and the man upstairs who said was time to flush the rat out.

Give me one good reason why we shouldn't love St.Lucia? The bail amount for drugs and ammunitions priceless, another three four months from now it will be sweeped under the rug and we will never hear about the couple again. The judicial system is so damn stupid and gullable it makes mne sick I wish they were in Iran or Afghanistan the rest would be history.

Guyanese contamination. Our government is just like theirs. That should make St. Lucians happy. We are keeping company with the worst performing countries in the region. That is another achievement of this UWP cabal.

@Above - You sure sound like a Republican.

@ above, if you want to remain a bloody ostrich, well, that's up to you. Me cyan change dat.

ALL smart St. Lucians who have eyes to see and can migrate will do so now. Do so now, before some countries shut their doors in our faces. The smart ones will keep their powder dry as we resemble more and more like another Zimbabwe, Guyana and Haiti every day.

Isn't that same "Shakes"guy the one who promotes the "peace and Love" football matches for the Castries Central MP? You know what scares me ? the military grenades....what the hell was shakes and his band of guyanese going to do with them grenades? The MP directed him to blow up SLP supporters when they gather for rallies coming up to elections? my word that thought frightens me!!!!!! We are still a praying nation and Vernon Francois no matter the weapons formed against you my brother; continue doing the good work that you do. The colombians will come to finish up the job to take the RING LEADER IN THE CABINET...remember Bonnie and Gaboo? Waitttttt be patient!!!! the drug war has just started. I am sure a particular minister is unable to sleep at nights; and by the way I heard he purchased the Governor General's bullet proof BMW why? he knows what is coming for him.....well sa pas kai sha-pay-e........
