What a success you are, police commissioner, in general, and Guy Mayers in particular.
Mr Vernon Francois, Police Commissioner of the Royal St Lucia Police Force - how do you measure sucess (your types) as you alluded to in the issue of last week's Voice edition, and what were the criteria used?
Are four murders in one weekend a success in combating crime, Mr Commissioner?
I am trying to understand your reasoning of sucess, hence my asking.
Crime on the rise again. I guess the 'quick fix' tactic of killin the bad boys aka Restore Confidence is not sustainable.
Guy Mayers on the other hand was on a platform Sunday talking nonsense of he is not happy with whats going on. He needs to shut up and act.
Wake up Lucians Wake up. Success krap, there's no success when crime rates are going sky high. Prime Minister and fellow Lucians. U'll got to wake up and start putting up some serious rules. Looks like to me that St Luica is getting really out of control. The island needs some rules. Rules that everyone needs to follow. A country/island needs rules in order to create a good name for the Island.

The people of St. lucia are looking to vote in a narcissistic failed party leader who ran up a billion dollar debt from 1997 -2006, who was involved in so many questionable deals which went on without the knowledge of his Cabinet colleagues and cost the country 10s of millions, who had murder increase 250% under his watch, who with his divisive qualities divided the country over the period.
The people of st lucia voted in a uwp operative as a mp who dealt daily with drug thugs and now has his visa revoked by the americans. St lucians voted for and did nothing when they learnr their mp for choiseul was a us felon.
Children are running around wild without fathers, drugs are rampant, st lucians put more fraudalent documents into the us embassy for visas than all other countries combined that apply at the embassy in bridgetown barbados.
St. lucians have become crude in daily discourse, vulgar in their use of language.

Some weeks ago there was an article about the slashing of a teacher's face in a rum shop by an alcoholic who had been denied a drink. I noted that alcohol and violence were two sides of the same coin.

We also have to recognize that in st lucia we have what is called crony capitalism where a number of local moneymakers work in collusion with the politicians to get what they want. We saw it with a certain aspect of the Rochamel deal where we could have expanded the range of our tourism product but that was squashed.
That business class like it the way it is because it prevents competition and they are the big fish in a little pond so the decrease in st lucians quality of life is just as they like it.
We also have a dead and useless academic group in st lucia all the product of progressive liberal educations whether at uwi or in the developed countries. they appear occasionally in the media or on blogs arguing in circles with the same socialist trash and self centered approach to everything. Incapable in economics of thinking beyond Keysinian government spending combined with the massa elitist attitude of the caribbean they contribute nothing to moving the caribbean forward.
that is why we get nowhere and will NOT get anywhere because our dysfunction is from top to bottom.
