Clem Bobb is an honourable man.
I think his resignation comes after he had to put up with the disorganization and scampishness of the members of the UWP Administration that he ahd to deal with during his tenure as the Chairman.
If a good Political Leader is eventually elected within the UWP then Mr. Bobb can spread his wings and be a good Chairman.
The SLP is already running into trouble and it will only get worst in 2012 and beyond.
"Clem Bobb is an honourable man", yet so honourably that he found himself mingling with the likes of Rufus Bosquet (jailbird), Richard Frederick (drug lord, et al), Mondeisir, etc, etc!! Good move Clem Bobb, putting party before self. The UWP needs new blood,and a dynamic personality as chairman. They need some new strategists who can effectively deal with issues like candidate selection and party image. These things should not be left totally to the party leader.

If the courts rule in their favour the fellas could well be in power in 2012.
Legal decisions are usually based on precedents. Show me one instant, especially in the OECS Court jurisdiction where the courts have overturned or even ordered a re-election because of dubious ballots following the issuance of the election writ by the Returning Officer after a rigorous count, witnessed by both candidates and their agents. The only chance is if it is proven that the election laws were broken by the returning officer, as in the Antigua case. These cases are more about Arsinine Doddy and King making a case to remain relevant. Next elections is whenever Kenny calls it in 5 years time.
You speak about precedent but I speak about competence. How many court cases have these nonentities has won in the past 5 yrs they were in office? They have lost every case against them. How obsurde they could be back in office in 2012 if the court rule in their favour. Why would anyone want these fellows back in office anyway, if they say they love St Lucia and want the country to progress.

Wasn't there a case in Antigua last year where a judge voided three seats of the ruling party?
Didn't this man from Dominica called Estaphane represented the ALP and lost after the government appeal was heard before Justice Byrone in Castries?
Didn't the first ruling mess up Antigua for 8 months?
Is it far fetch that a local judge can rule in favour of the UWP in a recount?
Remember the only reason why the government won the appeal was because the eastern caribbean court did not buy the argument that because the polls opened late this is why the ALP lost.
This isn't the case in ST Lucia. It's about recounts and what is or is not a rejected ballot. Who tell you that Ezekiel could win with 67 votes and lose by 2 the next day. Who tell you that Emma can win by 15 votes and win again by seven votes later.

The last time I heard this jackass talk was in 1997 when the SLP got 16 seats and the UWP 1. I also heard this jackass talk when the SLP won in 1979 with 12 seats and the UWP 5. What the court do is to have the complainant prove that there was irregualrities in the electorial process, then the seat will be decided one way or the other.what irregularities can UWP prove that was in the electorial process?

No need to be a simple mind. Take Jeanine's 1200 votes, and explain to the rest of the country whether these people would have voted for labour if Jeanine was not in the elections. So what is the sense for that person to waste their to trying to count and argue by how many votes SLP won the election? I wander what that person hope to achieve by doing that? Compton won 9-8 twice nobody said he won by a slime majority, all flambaus were happy he won. People let us get over it, SLP won and they are a better government by far than UWP could ever be. So if you have any love for St Lucia you would be happy SLP won. An election could be won by one vote, it is still a win. A win in one election does not always carry into another election. To prove that check the seats in this election, compared to the election in 2006.
It was the same thing that the SLP did during the last five years to justify why the country was evenly divided.
Minus the 11 seat thing the UWP is just as strong as the SLP in popular votes.

If the SLP could be resurrected from it's 1979 implosion to win another election, the 2011 UWP could likewise be resurrected to win again.

It was 82 not 79, the SLP did not do anything to the country per say to loose the election. They did it to themselves, through infighting within the party. The UWP on the other hand was a complete disaster in 5 yrs they had everything from infighting to corruption, a very weak leader , excess borrowing with nothing to show for that money and uneducated weak leader and weekly scandals etc, etc, so there is a difference.

Clem Bob exit from Chairperson and King's hopeful exit as Opposition leader might very well be the best thing to ever happen in the UWP. Good in the sense that Gail Rigobert or even Claudius Preville can serve as Leader of the UWP. Something tells me a move to include qualified and educated folks on the UWP is the best approach for the UWP. We do not have the patience and time to accomodate inepts such as Mr. King, Estaphan etc.

If labour does nopt take concertyed insightful action on international trade with educated private sector business professionals at its core, they will run into serious problems by early 2013.

It is really unfortunate that the UWP can't seem to appreciate men and women of valor and intellect. The grisly ones (such as Federik, the guys, Estaban, oh goodness King, Rufus boy,Doddie gets it done) seem to have greater appeal to the party. It would have done them very well if more persons like Gail Rigobert, Sarah Beaubrun, Dr. Ubaldus Raymond, Dr. Robert Lewis, Dr.Plummer, Janine Compton and others could have interest in the party. I am still looking forward to the day when more able persons can form the New UWP.
Talking about that, for a man who is a lawyer and who suppose to have a certain level of intellect. I talking about Doddy, that man man speak worse than me, everything he speak he would sound like an illiterate from the ghetto. I have never heard this man speak anything sensable, he always sound like a drunk man. It would be very difficult for UWP to attract more people like Dr Rigobert because hooligans like Frederick will never want to step aside to make way. So as I see it UWP is doomed.
