Hotels - STAY AWAY!!!
Please stay away from fragile nesting places of some of St Lucia's near extinct bird life, e.g. the White Breasted Thrasher, whose natural habitat (Praslin/Micoud) was encroached upon by the Paradis Hotel chain driving them almost to extinction!!
St Lucia cannot afford these hotels messing with its fragile eco-system.
St Lucia has already lost some of its wildlife to such "development".
Kudos to Dame Pearlette for her environmental sense, and to all those St Lucians who support such an event.
Very Informative article; It's true that Lucians need to look more into their ecological diversity (maintaining it). We cannot allow all these foreign corporations to come in, buy land to develop for Hotels, golf courses, etc. and cause a huge loss of biodiversity. A huge focus needs to be invested back into our environment, especially educating the people on plans for their country and environmental benefits. I congratulate the governer general in taking this huge first step in trying to sustain our rivers and hope that a 'green' movement grows.
