THIS WRITING OF YOURS IS GOOD READING AND GOOD THOUGHTS, NEVERLESS IF U HAVE THE COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION 2 THE PROBLEMS OF LUCIA. Y STICK YOUR CLEAR/BLACK BACKSIDE OVER IN THE USA. THIS IS ALL U DO EVERY GOD DAME WEEK WRITE WRITE WRITE.IS THIS HOW U WANT 2 JUMP START YOUR POLITICAL CAMPAIGN? 2 MY MIND WE IN ST. LUCIA ARE GETTING FEDUP WITH PARTY POTTY POLITICS. SLP UWP LPM ETC ETC. SAME F****ING PAPESHOW.
It is a moral hazard to pay people to strike; they take no risks and reap all the benefits.
It is does not take a lot of logical thinking to realize that those suffering the inconveniences of a strike or the general public should not be paying those who are inflicting their brand of righteousness on the rest of the society.
To not have the union pay its striking membership is to give carte blanche support for every industrial relations grievance to be escalated into a strike action at the drop of a hat -- and as a foregone conclusion.
The industrial relations climate in Saint Lucia will never ever be the same again. The abuses will mount and economic stability will be a thing of the past.
You cannot have such a Trojan Horse for a labour-union settlement. Better bite the bullet now than face the chaos later.
LPM is a set of starry-eyed foreign-based youth with no idea of economic reality. They conflate public relations with common sense and that to their mind trumps a sound foothold in, and knowledge of our political economy. And so their keep on injecting their two names in the news and not much else.
Blogger # 3 I think you just flaming. I read the same thing from you and did not walk away with the papishow you wrote up there. People have to start to think for their self and I don;t care if it is LPM or PPP or no party saying it. Once what they are saying make sense I am okay and in that case LPM is making a lot of sense.
Saint Lucians have no time or interest in psychology. They don't teach that at the tertiary level for the most part.
Are we going to ignore the importance of psychology just because we did not study it? Or just simply because we are not familiar with the lessons it can teach us? No wonder the comment on the moral hazard of paying striking workers got so offhandedly dismissed.
A problem does not exist just because we personally cannot see it, or we deliberately refuse to recognize its existence? And will the problem go away just because we do just that?
