What did Bermuda get for taking Guantanamo detainees?

United States foreign policy continues to stink under President Barack Obama. And guess who's to blame? Barack Obama!!! He was warned that his Cabinet of Ministers needed to comprise persons who would encourage the "change" that he promised during the historic 2008 campaign. He was warned that people like Hillary Clinton (who deceitfully and spitefully, said during the Primaries that "Americans will not vote a black candidate for President" - while feeling in her veins that Americans WOULD VOTE for Obama) should not be a member of his Cabinet. Barack incredibly made that spiteful woman (who obviously hates him like Hell and who will get no genuine warmth from the Middle East or elsewhere abroad) Secretary of State. Why didn't he simply keep Condoleezza Rice then? I contend and I can argue intelligently, with facts, that there is no difference between Hillary Clinton and Condy as Secretaries of State, but that's for another chapter. Barack ignored the warning signals from supporters and genuine friends that persons like John Gates should be removed from office and replaced by change agents, several well qualified persons who had supported him in the campaign throughout. He ignored all the warning signs and signals from sincere friends, honest supporters and loved ones, and decided instead, as a President who had promised change, and who was given a mandate for change, to play the same old disgraced games designed and perpetuated by the likes of President Ronald Reagan, President Herbert W. Bush, and President George W. Bush and his neo-con handlers. Evidently Mr. Sanders would like to write an article that severely spurns President Barack Obama for reneging on his promise for change in Washington, and for denying the masses their right to genuine change in US foreign policy. Obama has done what several populist leaders tend to do after elections: go back to bed with the very same legal and financial whores that are responsible for the decadence that threatens to overwhelm our societies. In the Caribbean where I was born, I have seen the same thing happen with some of our leaders, and here in London, where I live, they are all guilty of the same infelicities. This is why the people are so cynical generally, and are so tired of, and are so extremely disappointed with, politicians on the whole. We saw Tony Blair in UK, Kenny Anthony in Saint Lucia, and now Barack Obama in the US, all squander the people's mandates for change. As soon as they each got into power, it was "business as usual" with the same power brokers that were guilty of the social mess, in breakfasts and lavish dinners, while the voters for change were left outside the door as usual, holding on to empty soup-bowls, and picking up the crumbs off the tables of the magnates. So, Mr. Sanders, I invite you, in your next article, as the seasoned diplomat that you are, to speak some harsher truth to President Barack Obama, who should be deeply ashamed of associating himself with begging the small, insignificant island of Bermuda, to hold ex-Guantanamo prisoners. While I know that Obama has different personal views on the issue, it is a terrible shame for his presidency to now have to be associated with this outrage. The real American people gave no such mandate to Barack Obama's administration. Like you, I also concur, that Delahunt's words are among the most shameful that I have ever heard spewing from a US policymaker. The man must be a gargoyle of the very worst category possible. Donna.
