TO KENNY ANTHONY
Thanks kenny for pointing this out to St.Lucians.I do not always agree with you,but this time I do.
St.lucians will live to regret this.
A word of advice to you Kenny.Remember your early training in the days you hiked at Park Estate and we camped at river Doree school and contemplated eternal truth.Set the parties sights on what to do to change this direction. It may well be that St.Lucians will call on you and the Labour party as soon as the value added tax and IMF loans begin to bite at their bellies. You have your work cut out for you.
I need not remind you to have a look at the effects of IMF loans on African and other countries maybe as recently as 2008.Going to the Imf indicates a government bankrupt of ideas.
Consider well the shift in the global power base well as consulting the Almighty.Hope this will help you
Good luck to you.

Further to the above, Kenny, remember that no country has ever devalued its currency and became prosperous. In other words no country has ever devalued its way into prosperity

"St.lucians will live to regret this."

Oh cut this crap out!!!!!! Stop blaming the people of St Lucia. Kenny borrowed a hell lot of money. What transpired here did not start just 2 1/2 years ago. It is as a result of bad management of our financial resources by successive governments, and this includes Kenny Anthony and the SLP.

The UWP has also gone where Compton for years would not go. The man who hated the IMF with a passion has his name even in death afix to it.

Thnaks 2 Kenny and Tony our gross domestic product is 95-120%.... we borrowed more thans we can pay and will 4 some time. Were in a tail spin, major cuts will follow to counter such along with reduction in our import bill. Cut's on non essential items. We need to produce and feed our selfs, be more industrious and self reliance moving onward.

The Value Added Tax is supposed to come on stream April 2010 and is seen as a much better way of collecting revenue owed to government.

No it is not.
When goods are sold cash, sellers can easily avoid VAT.

time will tell whether my words come true or not,but i still hold to the view rhat st.lucians will live to regret borrowing from the IMF in order to make it work .ok let's sit back and watch whether my words have substance or not

Your words can't be of any value or substance, when in your heart you would love for the people of St lucia to fail.

As far as you are concerned, only the government of the day and the people of St lucia shares the responsibility for turning to the IMF.

The opposition in our country shares no blame. As far as you are concerned, they had no party to play in the amount of excessive borrowing that occured over a period of 10 years.

No true loving St Lucian can be happy about that move, and no true St Lucian who places their country first over their political loyalty, will see to take a position which seeks to penalize the people of St Lucia for their own selfish poltiical agenda.

No offense but how can anyone not at Golden Hope defend the UWP. Not a SLP just educated.

if i loved the st.lucian to fail i would not say a word, and if i did i would probably tell you how wonderful it is to sell all your resources and borrow money.then i would probably tell you to sell yourselves since this is the only resource you would have left. How about slavery revisited?
the western world sells debt in that way they control you and control your minds. If you doubt me just stand on the corner of jerimie street and John Compton highway at seven am and 4 pm and watch how almost everyone does the samething in the same way everyday.
look you work it out for yourself ok.
you want to be in debt,go right ahead.errr I can lend you any amount on VERY EASY TERMS you want to bite??

The admission of guilt by both sides is what I am was hoping to hear from you.

Your tongue seems twisted, and from the corner of your mouth comes blame for the only the government of the day. You are not even honest or man/woman enough to admit the truth.

Those of us who are intelligent enough know full well that you don't land at the door steps of the IMF ( just like that).

Take your little misguided reasoning somewhere else.

When can a country borrow from the IMF?
A member country may request IMF financial assistance if it has a balance of payments need—that is, if it cannot find sufficient financing on affordable terms to meet its net international payments. An IMF loan provides a cushion that eases the adjustment policies and reforms that a country must make to correct its balance of payments problem and restore conditions for strong economic growth.

Compliements of the SLP, Kenny and Tony!!!

I cannot beleive this !

The individual who as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance through his mismanagement and arrogance, through his reckless spending and frivelous borrowing raised the National Debt by $1,000,000,000 and who had to be forced by a Commission of Enquiry to show where the Rochamel money was spent, now comes to complain about US$10.7 million borrowed transparently from the IMF.

The same Kenny and Tony who did not say that on top of the $110,000,000 lost on Rochamel , that the interest to date has topped $50,000,000.
So over $160,000,000 down the drain on Rochamel and it is Butch Stewart who owns the hotel and not Lucians !!!

He should be ashamed to go on the political platform or show his face in the media.

What about the media. Why has no journalist asked Kenny to explain exactly where the Rochamel money went or to accept responsibility for this travesty ? Why is no one in the media asking him about the over $50 million in interest payments ? Why cannot any journalist (except Rick Wayne) ask Kenny how he can complain when he moved interest payments on Government DEBT from $1.25M per MONTH to $1.25million per WEEK under his administrations? Why do not the journalists not ask him how he expected successive Governments to pay for the operations of the public sector when he already borrowed all the money and is crippling revenue by having so much sucked out to pay interest on loans ?

This is really getting tiring because "we like it so" !

I saw Kenny's speach at the square and his body language was so similar to Castro's that I swear I felt 2 drops of pee, scary.

What was sweet in Kenny mout, now sour in his bam-bam! It will always be difficult for Kenny to criticize the UWP with any conviction. Nearly all of the things he is criticizing UWP for, they also critized him for. In a situation like that people have to do their own research to understand what is happening and to get at the truth. Can the economy survive without a loan to replace lost government revenue from poor tourism performances etc? If the answer to this is no, then we must ask, whether the IMF offers the best terms available on the market today? Then we need to know if there are any conditionalities involved. My research tells me the terms are excellent. Are better terms available? I can't know but I doubt that any commercial bank can match the IMF's terms. I saw no conditionalities that frigthened me. The information is freely available on the IMF's website. In sum, I believe if Kenny was in an identical situation he would have done the exact same thing as King.

The time uwp use to scare people about Castro to win elections is long gone, so please say something more sense able than that. People are not stupid any more. "Kenny body language was so similar to Castro" So what? What is your point? What sense does that make? Uwp ministers are now traveling to Cuba, forgetting what their party said before, and pretending not knowing what they stand for. You talk as if Castro represent something bad, forgetting the hundreds of professionals they have and is continuing to train FREE of charge for us. Which other country have done that for us?

Anonymous said...

Kenny is a constitutional dictatorship, who should never be allowed to taste electoral power in this country again. Mark my words the SLP will never be darken by the touch of the UWP come next election. Kenny and Tony have missed many opportunities and have no plans!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

What opportunities have Kenny missed?

Anonymous said...

He missed the opportunity to be honest.

Anonymous said...

And, you are telling me, King, Mondesir, R Frederick, Guy Joseph, et al are steeped in Victorian principles and honesty.

Wake up!!...only this week a judge passed sentence on Mondesir for dishonesty; indeed - the entire UWP for being dishonest...so come correct!!

Anonymous said...

Ask them where is the million dollars Chou gave each of them to do work in their district? Is that honesty? not only mondesir evaded custom duties, R. Frederick is also in court for that. So please,

I want somebody please to put a number on the amount of scandals we have had so far with this government. I think that is important, because that seem as if all they do, I have lost count.

Why can't you count, have you fried your brain?

Hello everyone, i would like to share my experience on this platform. i have been hearing of Blank Atm for a while and i applied through a few people but i was scammed, not until i found Mr George who saved me from scammers, i got my blank ATM card in 5 days after application and tried the encrypted card in an ATM machine and pos cash store to my greatest surprise i was able to withdraw €3000 and that was the daily rate i applied for in total i have made a withdrawal of €30000. to be honest there is no risk involved the card is not traceable and has an infrared signal that blocks off CCTV during your withdrawals. i just payed my daughters tuition fee and cleared my mortgage debts, i am also richer and started a business that is doing fine. Mr George is really a life saver and he is very genuine. You can contact him with this email address: blankatm402@gmail.com
