Yes, this is great; but only $3,000 bail? Which they, obviously, were able to afford!

I write this note with tears and sadness in my heart.

I just read on "St Lucia News Online" see article below, that an alledged murderer, who is wanted for murder in Toronto, was released, thanks to Richelieu and our inept and corrupt court.

My heart bleed for us. We now have another monster walking free and terrorizing and killing us again, a criminal that was already captured and was rightfully where he belongs. THANK YOU RICHELIEU AND OUR COURTS...

Ron Joseph William of Morne Du-Don, accused of a murder which occurred two years ago, and was wanted by Canadian authorities, is now a free man.

William was nabbed by local police, after a warrant was issued for his arrest on May 7, 2008.

He was wanted in connection with the homicide of Jonathan Rodrigues, which took place on February 22, 2008 in Toronto, Canada.

While in police custody here awaiting extradition, local Attorney Alberton Richelieu represented William.

Extradition is the official process whereby one nation or state surrenders a suspected or convicted criminal to another. Between nation states, extradition is regulated by treaties.

When contacted for comments on Monday, Richelieu declined to speak on the matter, alluding to the sensitivity of the case.

He indicated that there could be further action to have Williams extradited.
Richelieu had previously stated however that no treaty exists between St. Lucia and Canada, to facilitate the process
