Should St Lucia adopt new T & T legislation for harsher punishment?

Damned good idea for the lashing, it should be given on the way in, and on the way out of Jail. But don't count on this present Government to do anything about this, since R.F. will veto any such move. King is too timid a leader to tackle the crime problem facing the country. I don't have faith in K.A. to do anything otherwise. They are all gutless.

Chastanet's idea has merit.

It is so good to know that he might finally have realized that his failure to put lashes on his son Allan's backside, is the very reason for his complicity in trying to defraud the people of St. Lucia.

The LASHING is not a bad idea. Velon John had promised this, but as soon as he got into power he changed his mind. Our politicians are ALL so gutless!!! In opposition they have all sorts of bright ideas, then the power gets to their heads when they get to Parliament and in government. I want to say however, that the LASHING should not be reserved only for the brutal criminals who shed the blood of the citizens. The politicans who steal the State's money through TAX EVASION should also get their LASHES. You don't have to go to jail to get your lashes. A lot of St. Lucians who commit crimes, including the white-collar criminals, like those crooked politicians, should get their LASHING. And also, a lot of the young convicts who are now in jail, should really not be there, occupying needed space. Many of them should be LASHED, then put to do community service for 6 months, sweeping the streets, cleaning the drains, keeping the roadsides clear of useless bush, cleaning the highways in chain gangs, like in China and Russia, planting gardens, etc., etc, instead of hanging out in jail and killing each other, sodomizing each other, and spreading AIDS. Most of these guys just need some SOLID LASHES, and months of forced labour on the streets, where everybody could see them in plain view, and you would see how quickly crime would abate in St. Lucia, you would see how quickly they would COWIJAY. JAH YOUT
