Misinterpreting and Misunderstanding Cuba

Mr. Bousquet has obviously place a considerable amount of thought and effort into the defense of Cuba, which is clear in his carefully crafted malarkey. I dare to assume Mr. Bousquet must have reasons for documenting his support for Cuba; I should hope he has placed as much passion in fighting of the rights of Saint Lucians to have a fair and honest government working solely in their best interest. If Cuba has done so well over the past 50 years, why change now. Why fix something that’s not broken. All what you have said in Cuba’s defense is just a excusatory way of say exactly what the journalist said – the system has not worked for the betterment of the Cuban society, hence the reason for change, for the opening of the free market and expansion of the private sector. If you’re as defensive about the progress of the St. Lucian people as you are about this topic, then I’m glad the St. Lucian people have you on their side.

My experience in the world of politics over the past decades has shown me one thing - which is that anyone can put together and set of words to prove (in their eyes) anything that they want.

Mr. Bousquet has been one of those prolific writers who produces copious reams of words which obfuscate, confuse, miss the mark, divert, spread red herrings. Everything but tell the truth.

The only proof of Mr. Bousquet;s words is the results of his words and thinking.

You just have to look at Cuba and the Caribbean to know what a failure he has been.

Having had the privilage of visiting Cuba and being a guest of the goverment, visiting hospitals and other resources I felt that the system, even though it is flawed, is a much more caring and less discriminatory one than how it is here in St. Lucia. I did not see people begging in the streets, I did not meet anyone who didn't have some money every month given either thriough work or the goverment, I did not witness sick people left to die. In St Lucia we see nasty horrible situations all the time people are ostracised for very little, there are the haves and the have nots and no one cares about anyone but them selves. People in glass houses should not throw stones. Thank you Mr. Bousquet for an excellent article.

My Cuban friends here in Canada says otherwise. Earl should go live in Cuba like the locals and then come-again. Who feels it knows it.

The person who said that HAVING HAD THE PRIVILAGE OF VISITING CUBA,told only the thruth, was a visitor,he/she needs to go to Cuba again for living as the locals and see what really happens.....
