Since the Prime Minister has remained silent on the Richard Frederick issue and Richard Frederick has seen it fit to blame everyone but himself, St Lucians should take matters into their own hands.

I would like to encourage
St Lucians to contact Transparency International to make sure we can assist them in carrying out their surveys in this country so that we can be included on The Corruption Perception Index for
the year 2011.

I wonder how the Business Community will feel about that ….

In the meantime, St. Lucians should start reading the information on the following website:

http://www.transparency.org

Corruption Perceptions Index 2009

 The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) table shows a country's ranking and score, the number of surveys used to determine the score, and the confidence range of the scoring.

 The rank shows how one country compares to others included in the index. The CPI score indicates the perceived level of public-sector corruption in a country/territory.

 The CPI is based on 13 independent surveys. However, not all surveys include all countries. The surveys used column indicates how many surveys were relied upon to determine the score for that country.

 The confidence range indicates the reliability of the CPI scores and tells us that allowing for a margin of error; we can be 90% confident that the true score for this country lies within this range.

Rank: 22
Country/Territory: St. Lucia
CPI 2009 Score: 7.0
Surveys Used: 3
Confidence Range: 6.7-7.5

The 2010 CPI covers two countries fewer than last year’s edition. The slight change resulted from individual sources adjusting the range of countries they assess. These adjustments in coverage made it possible to include Kosovo for the first time, but led to the exclusion of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname, for which only two sources of information were available this year.

thats hypocrisy on that part of the voice. How many times have you reported on stories that you never had the whole facts on.
The fact of the matter is, the minister had to do something that warrants his visa revocation. America, does not owe us an explanation as to why they had to revoke the minister's visas. Ask the minister, he knows- ask the PM , he also knows- It must be known if it was done in darkness.

I can remain silent if PM King can develop the gonads to take a stand against vexing concerns involving his Cabinet. I would prefer calling for the resignation of a default and miserably incompetent and coward PM.

A change of approach by the Voice?
Avery measured and responsible attitude towards this matter. Ihope this impartial approach will be maintained throughout the election campaign.
It would be most gratifying to find a media outlet in this island which presented impartial information and allowed the readers to arrive at their own conclusions based on the evidence provided.
Iwill be watching Mr.Editor.!

While I commend this papers new approach to unsubstaniated information, I hope this new found editorial maturity will continue throughout the election and apply to matters related to all colours of the political spectrum.
However there are areas within this scenario on which you could have provided guidance. Irefer to the fact that both the PM and the minister of housing have stated no pre knowlege to this action by the US state department yet still the Deputy US Consular sugggest otherwise. Who is being untruthful, the US Consular, the PM or the Minister of housing?

Above that is very true, both frederick and King are liars. The USA inform EVERBODY of their actions, I'm speaking from experience because I have dealt with them. The question I have for Frederick is, if he did not know his visa was revoked. Then why he did not come up to New Yoke this labour day as he has been doing every year. We all were waiting for him at his favorite bar, he did not even call, why that is not his habit?

King er tired lying to us? He lied from the get go by lying about sir John death, he lied by saying he did not know Prudent who was his long time campaining partner, he lied about the Grynberg affair saying he cannot recall, what a shame, now he's lying about Frederick visa scandal etc, etc.

Above some say he got as far as Puetorico, and returned,
Of more concern to me is how will the USA respond, they dont take too kindly to being maligned, remember how they treated Jamaica because of pro Castro statements by Mamly. (Jamaicas economy has never recovered to this day)
So my advice is to King and Co , becareful how you respond to our largest donor , IMF , World bank etc

Only bias people will say something like he reached Puetorico, because the USA will NEVER revoke two visas especially from a high profile person like Frederick without informing him and the government. Both Frederick and his government was informed and knew about the visa revocation. So Frederick will never leave St Lucia to try to travel to the USA. Dor mind all the big mouth Frederick has in St Lucia calling himself pitbull etc, he is very afraid to be arested by the U S, so he will never venture near a U S port. He is smarter than that.
